IMPACT Wrestling have today announced a new television deal for fans in the United Kingdom that will not only see the weekly IMPACT episodes presented, but also live pay-per-views and presentations of their IMPACT Plus specials.
Special events, such as the upcoming Victory Road and Bound For Glory shows, will air via Premier Sports, whereas the weekly episodes will air on its sister channel, FreeSports. The deal officially kicks off this coming Tuesday (October 6th), with this Saturday’s Victory Road special, headlined by Eric Young defending the World Championship against Eddie Edwards, coming to Premier Sports at 9pm UK time. From there, all future IMPACT episodes will air on FreeSports at 10pm UK time every Wednesday evening.
Perhaps the biggest piece of news from this, though, is that Bound For Glory on Saturday, October 24th, currently set to be main evented by Rich Swann challenging the winner of Victory Road‘s main event for the World Championship, will air LIVE on Premier Sports at 1am UK time. This means that UK fans will no longer have to wait at least a week for the pay-per-view to air, allowing them to celebrate the event with other fans from all over the world as it happens.
IMPACT’s executive vice president Scott D’Amore stated, “We’re very excited to be
back in prime time and for our fans in the UK and Ireland to be able to catch all the action from our flagship weekly show for free, and just hours after it takes place in the United States. The fans over there are some of the most passionate and knowledgeable wrestling fans in the world. They love IMPACT Wrestling and we’re beginning this new partnership with Premier Sports at the perfect time, with a stacked Bound For Glory just weeks away.”
Fans can subscribe to Premier Sports for just £9.99 a month on Sky, Virgin TV, and the Premier Player, while FreeSports is available for free on Sky channel 422, Virgin HD channel 553, BT/TalkTalk channel 64, and Freeview channel 64, while also being available online via the FreeSports Player.
