NJPW Summer Struggle in Jingu

Summer Struggle promised to be a big event as New Japan Pro Wrestling went to Jingu Stadium to hold the event.  The stacked lineup featured a number of title matches and a majority of those titles changed hands as NJPW set itself up for an exciting end to the year.

Tetsuya Naito Regains IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental Championships

In the main event, Tetsuya Naito got retribution on EVIL for turning his back on him and Los Ingobernables De Japon by once again winning the IWGP heavyweight and intercontinental championships.  EVIL’s reign ends at just 48 days as Naito got his big moment at Jingu Stadium

Taiji Ishimori Wins IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship

Bullet Club’s Taiji Ishimori became a two-time IWGP Hr. Heavyweight Champion by defeating Hiromu Takahashi in a slightly surprising result.  Most eyes will be on Takahashi’s next move as it is rumoured we could see him make the jump to being a heavyweight to finally ascend to the top of NJPW

Minoru Suzuki Wins NEVER Openweight Championship

It was a bad night for some members of LIJ as Shingo Takagi lost the NEVER Openweight title to Suzuki-Gun’s Minoru Suzuki.  Both men personify the hard-hitting style of the NEVER title.  Suzuki surprisingly only starts his second run as NEVER Champion.

Toru Yano Is THE King Of Pro Wrestling

Toru Yano won the trophy to become the King Of Pro Wrestling pinning Kazuchika Okada in the process.  Yano must not defend this trophy until the year end but for now we can safely say that Toru Yano is the king of pro wrestling!
