Cody‘s reign as TNT Champion came to a shocking end at the hands of Mr. Brodie Lee of the Dark Order. Shocking, not foe the result, but because of how dominant the win was for Lee. The match went mere minutes and Cody did not get in a single hit as Lee dominated from start to finish before hitting the discus lariat for the win.
Cody has been workhorse of AEW for many months as TNT Champion, taking on all comers without thinking twice. This may have come back to bite him as he gradually became more fatigued and worn down leading to this incredibly one-sided loss.
Lee has been hailed for many months by the Dark Order as a man of power, with this win Lee proved himself to the masses and definitively staked a claim at the top of the company by knocking off a name like Cody. As the show closed the Dark Order stood tall with Cody on a stretcher and the Nightmare Family left beaten and bruised
