On August 10th PURE-J celebrated it’s third anniversary while Openweight Champion Leon celebrated her twentieth year in wrestling. They ran a special show at Korakuen Hall which was headlined by a clash for the Daily Sports Tag Team Championships. Former Openweight Champion Hanako Nakamori and Rina Yamashita emerged as the new champions defeating Makoto and Moeka Haruhi.
Nakamori was not without gold for long, she lost her PURE-J Openweight title to Leon just two weeks ago at Itabashi Green Hall and already has gold around her waist. Now she is not only a three-time Openweight champion but she is also a three-time holder of the Daily Sports Tag Team Championships, her first since 2017 when she held them alongside Kyoko Kimura. Yamashita has become something of a tag specialist as this is the fourth different company she has held tag team titles in, the other three being REINA, SEAdLINNNG, and OZ Academy. Just one day after a brutal hardcore match with Risa Sera she was back at her best to help win the titles.
The previous champions Haruhi and Makoto had held the titles for almost exactly one year winning them on August 11 2019, the duo had made a number of defences of the titles against various teams but they fell short to the physically imposing team of Yamashita and Nakamori.
