Huge things are on the horizon as Dominik Mysterio will make his in-ring debut and it will officially be for the WWE. And one step further, it will be against multi-time world champion Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. The same place that his custody was fought for between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio 15 years ago. The ultimate test for young Mysterio as he hops right into the fire officially at the second biggest show of the year.

The son of Rey Mysterio has long been destined for an in-ring career after beginning his pro wrestling training in September 2018 under the tutelage of Lance Storm and reappeared on WWE television for the first time in almost a decade last year in May. Rey was feuding with Samoa Joe at the time and his son returned to try and reinspire his father who mulled retirement. Since then, he has shown flashes of fighting in his father’s feuds with both Brock Lesnar and most recently Seth Rollins.
Just over one year later after his reemergence, Dominik will show what he has learned as he takes on the man that removed the eye from his father’s skull. And it was a long time coming considering Dominik’s multiple attacks on Rollins, showing that he has what it takes to stand up. But now that there is a scheduled match between the two, it’s time for his biggest test. On Monday night, he showed some more glimpse in what he is capable of, including a picture-perfect 619 that sent Rollins flying.

Young Mysterio laid down the challenge and it has been accepted. It’s official and should be one of the more anticipated matches of the entire SummerSlam weekend. While Rey Mysterio continues to rehab, one would have to guess that he will do anything he can to be in his son’s corner for his first-ever match.
