Longtime fans of the original GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) series from the late 1980s and early 1990s were saddened to hear the passing of Becky Mullen, who portrayed the popular character Sally The Farmer’s Daughter on Monday night, following a battle with cancer. The news was broken on Facebook by another former GLOW cast member, Patricia Summerland, who portrayed Sunny The California Girl. Summerland has started a fundraiser to help Mullen’s mother pay for cremation costs. Becky died just two days removed from her 57th birthday.
Sally The Farmer’s Daughter made her debut with GLOW in the inaugural season of GLOW in 1986, but in season two she was replaced by Amy the Farmer’s Daughter (played by Trudy Adams), although Sally would make her return for the third season in 1988, where she would join her “sister” Babe the Farmer’s Daughter (played by Ursula Hayden, who purchased GLOW in 2001).
Following her brief stint in pro wrestling, she would go on to acting in movies and TV, as well as appearing in popular hair metal videos of the 1990s, including Slaughter’s “Up All Night” in 1990 and Van Halen’s “Poundcake” in 1991. She also appeared on episodes of Married…With Children, Hard Time on Planet Earth, Renegade, Pacific Blue, and Cybil, as well as films such as Bikini Carwash Company II, Forbidden Games, and Sinful Intrigue. Last year she returned to pro wrestling and the Sally character for a new series, The Original Ladies of Wrestling that appeared on Tubi.
