Fear No More: Cody To Face Warhorse Next Week On AEW Dynamite

WARHORSE

The fans have been clamoring for this match-up for weeks, as fans of US indie star Warhorse, the reigning IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion, got #CodyFearsWarhorse trending in their attempt to get AEW’s TNT Champion Cody Rhodes to face Warhorse in his open challenge. Then weeks ago, Cody’s coach, Arn Anderson, suggested that maybe Cody SHOULD face Warhorse. On Friday, AEW made it official. Warhorse is heading to All Elite Wrestling to face Cody next Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.

Since winning the TNT Championship at Double or Nothing this past May, he’s defended the TNT Championship against Jungle Boy, Private Party‘s Marq Quen, Ricky Starks, Jake Hager, Sonny Kiss, and most recently, Eddie Kingston. But this Wednesday he faces a challenger that has arguably gotten the most support online prior to the announcement. Warhorse is a 7-year veteran of the US indies who exploded in the past year following a change in persona that saw him embrace the bombastic over-the-top promo styles of the 1980s with his love of heavy metal. He’s the reigning IWTV Champion, having held it for 307-days with defenses against the likes of Orange Cassidy, Tony Deppen, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Alan Angels (Dark Order’s 5), Danhausen, and more.
