For weeks now, US indie fans have flocked to Social Media with #CodyFearsWarhorse trying to get IndependentWrestling.tv (IWTV) Independent Wrestling Champion Warhorse onto AEW Dynamite to answer Cody Rhodes‘ Open Challenge for the TNT Championship in All Elite Wrestling. Last week, Cody’s manager Arn Anderson, who scouts Cody’s potential opponents, suggested Cody should maybe try out Warhorse. With fans now in heavy anticipation for a potential debut of Warhorse in AEW this coming Wednesday, Beyond Wrestling has announced that at this Sunday’s Two Weeks Notice show in New Jersey live at 1pm EST on IWTV.com, Warhorse will defend his IWTV title against Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) World Champion Rickey Shane Page.

Warhorse has become one of the US indies cult hero phenomenons of the past year, with his over-the-top promos and winning the IWTV title last September 21 at Black Label Pro‘s Turbo Graps 16, when he defeated then-champion Erick Stevens in the tournament final. Since then, he’s had 35 title defences in over 300-days as champion, fending off challenges from the likes of Orange Cassidy, Kylie Rae, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Matthew Justice, EFFY, Tony Deppen, Fred Yehi, Alex Zayne, and Danhausen. This Sunday, he will defend it against the GCW World Champion, Rickey Shane Page, who is 226-days into his own reign. Warhorse has also previously defended against two former GCW World Champions in AJ Gray and KTB. This will mark the first time that these two indie stars have faced each other one on one.
