With five championship matches on the schedule for Slammiversary, you knew that IMPACT Wrestling was going to see some new champions on the top of their brand, especially with the IMPACT World Championship vacant. Well, by night’s end, Chris Bey and Deonna Purrazzo managed to capture gold in their respective title matches at Slammiversary.
#AndNEW: Chris Bey Wins X-Division Championship
Chris Bey faced off with Willie Mack for the IMPACT X-Division Championship. Mack had won the title back in April when he defeated Ace Austin for the championship on IMPACT television. For weeks, Bey and Mack were at each other’s throats, trying to one-up each other heading into the pay-per-view. Johnny Swinger had overheard Bey slandering him in the back, leading to him not being in his corner for the match. It didn’t matter for Bey either way, as he used dirty tactics to gouge the eye of Mack. This led to an insane crucifix and a picture-perfect cutter to get the three count and become the new IMPACT X-Division Champion. The age of Bey is officially here.

#AndNEW: Deonna Purrazzo Wins Knockouts Championship
It was almost a guarantee in a lot of people’s minds. Deonna Purrazzo was set for greatness the moment she debuted as she set her sights on Jordynne Grace and the IMPACT Knockouts Championship. Her destiny was accomplished; not only did she defeat Grace, but she made her give up in the middle of the ring with the double Fujiwara Armbar. She was out to prove herself as the best Knockout. In a very short time, that’s exactly what she did. Now she is prepared to face Kylie Rae after her win earlier in the night to become the No. 1 Contender.

#AndNEW: Eddie Edwards Wins IMPACT World Championship
In a shocking turn of events, Eddie Edwards walked out of Slammiversary as the new IMPACT World Champion. He eliminated Ace Austin to win the championship after the match had a number of twists and turns prior. Edwards earned his opportunity to even be in the match at Hard To Kill when he won the Call Your Shot Trophy at Bound For Glory at the end of 2019. After defending it multiple times, it came to great use as he has won his second world championship since joining the company. After the match, he was aided by The Good Brothers, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, as Madman Fulton and Ace Austin attacked. It seems Edwards will have a line of contenders wanting a shot rather soon.
