nZo, formerly known as Enzo Amore in WWE, has released a new single entitled “COVID-19 Anthem”, in hopes to help raise money for a gym based out of North Bergen, New Jersey called State of Fitness Boxing Club. The gym opened in 2016 and is owned by a local firefighter, Desmond Boyle, and the gym has been unable to open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The gym failed to get approved for a small business loan during the shutdown and has not been granted any rent relief. A GoFund Me has been started to help out Boyle and his gym, which nZo is hoping to raise awareness for.
nZo returned to pro wrestling last summer following his release from WWE in 2018 after failing to notify the company about sexual assault allegations levied against him (which he was ultimately cleared from). Since then he has fought Brian Pillman Jr. in a series of matches around the country, before the shutdown, and then made his post-COVID shutdown return on July 10, this time teaming with Pillman Jr. against the father-son duo of Rock N’ Roll Express‘ Ricky Morton and his son, rising star Kerry Morton.
