nZo Headed to the Indies with WWE Cruiserweight Championship for First-Ever Real1 Mixtape Tour

After having wrestled just a handful of matches following his WWE departure, nZo fka Enzo Amore, is returning to the indies to complete what he’s calling his first-ever, Real1 Mixtape Tour, of the scene. The tour is set to begin on Friday, July 10th as in his first match since February 2020, nZo will team with Brian Pillman Jr. to take on Ricky and Kerry Morton for Tennessee’s KFW Wrestling.

While nZo himself as well as the School of Morton have referred to this as nZo’s indie debut, that isn’t entirely true. nZo has wrestled three matches on the indies, all against Pillman. The first took place in August 2019 for Northeast Wrestling‘s Prison Break event. nZo and Pillman then fought again in November for Storecade, and in February 2020 for Qatar Pro Wrestling‘s Superslam 2. In his indie career, nZo is a perfect 3-0, but on Friday, he’ll find himself taking on a new opponent for the first time since he debuted on the indie scene almost a year ago.

Kicking off the Real1 Mixtape Tour, in which nZo has promised to bring with him and defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship, a title he never officially lost in the ring, nZo and Pillman will team to take on one half of the Rock N Roll Express, Ricky Morton, and his son, up-and-coming pro wrestling Kerry Morton. A member of the Morton family, which has been involved in wrestling for several generations, the 19-year-old Kerry is just starting to get match experience under his belt but he’s on the right path. Counting among his trainers Tom Pritchard and Robert Gibson, as well as his dad, 2020 was shaping up to be a big year for Kerry, but due to the coronavirus, some big dates he had lined up were cancelled, including a singles match against fellow second generation wrestler, Brian Pillman Jr. At 26, Pillman is one of the rising stars to watch for as he’s already worked for several major companies and was named PWI’s Rookie of the Year in 2018. The two young stars will certainly look to steal the show, but that will be easier said than done when sharing a ring with nZo and the WWE Hall of Famer, Ricky Morton.

In 2018, nZo was fired from WWE due to sexual assault allegations that were later dismissed. His last match with the company took place in January 2018 at a 205 Live house show event. Due to the nature of how quickly he was fired, nZo never had a chance to drop the Cruiserweight Championship, of which he was in his second reign at the time of his departure. But as nZo’s recent video announcement shows, he still has his belt and plans to prove that he is anything but “S-A-W-W-E-F-T.” While details of his tour have yet to be revealed beyond just this Friday’s match, it does seem there is interest on Twitter from several fans and promotions to bring nZo in for a match.

Having recently joined the popular “OnlyFans” site, nZo has been releasing videos of his online pro wrestling school “You Can’t Teach That Inc.,” where he’s welcomed guests to his gym for in-ring tutorials. nZo, who also has a rap career, has said his OnlyFans will include “exclusive interviews, promos, behind the scenes footage, in ring wrestling psychology do’s & don’ts, MUSIC, video’s, skits, & storytelling all available WEEKLY.”
