Friday Night SmackDown has been somewhat slacking the past number of weeks due to reshoots, reschedules, and other problems backstage. This week will see a re-air of the first match between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt from Money in the Bank, but thankfully it will have other action as well that is sure to bring some entertainment to FOX on Friday night.
Jeff Hardy on MizTV
Jeff Hardy has been in the sights of Sheamus for some time now and after the horrendous toast segment last week, Hardy will be a guest on this week’s MizTV. The best part of this will be the old rivals of Hardy and John Morrison probably being in the ring at the same time, as they had some excellent bouts back in the 2000s over the Intercontinental Championship. Expect Sheamus to somehow become involved during this one.
Alexa Blis & Nikki Cross vs Sasha Banks & Bayley
Who runs the world? Sasha Banks and Bayley. Another WWE television show, another grand appearance by the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This time will see them faceoff with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a rematch from last month where Banks and Bayley won the titles. This will also serve as build towards Bayley vs. Nikki Cross at Extreme Rules.
Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) (C) vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro
Here’s a match that has a great opportunity to be the match of the week if given the time. Instead of waiting until Extreme Rules, these two teams will go head-to-head in what can be expected to be the main event of SmackDown. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro have displayed great chemistry together and should have a real chance of taking the gold from The New Day. Expect a fun, physical match up.
Not Announced But Expected
— More teasing of a feud between Matt Riddle and King Corbin
— AJ Styles finding a new challenger for his Intercontinental Championship
