New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that CHAOS members YOH and YOSHI-HASHI have suffered injuries and will be missing for the foreseeable future. Both got injured during the New Japan Cup.
“YOSHI-HASHI and YOH have both sustained injuries in recent bouts, YOSHI-HASHI to his right knee, and YOH to his left knee.
Both men will be unable to compete in Osaka Jo Hall on July 11 and 12, and there is no current timetable for either to return.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling apologizes to fans who were looking forward to seeing both wrestlers compete. We appreciate your understanding, and wish both men well in their recovery.”
YOH revealed in his blog that he actually tore his ACL while HASHI has an unspecified injury to his right knee. Fans had noticed YOH was absent from shows following his elimination from the cup and now we know why.
The injury to YOH is likely to have an impact on his Roppongi 3K tag partner Sho who is set to challenge for Shingo Takagi’s NEVER Openweight Championship. With his partner out injured it will be interesting to see what NJPW does with Sho as he could merge into the pack. It’s also possible that Sho finally gets a bit of a singles push and gets to establish his own identity away from R3K and the Junior Heavyweight tag team division.
We wish YOH and YOSHI-HASHI the best in their recoveries
