On Thursday, IndependentWrestling.tv (IWTV) announced the addition of one of Mexico’s most exciting new promotions, Lucha Libre Vanguardia, to its line-up, joining a roster of Mexican independents including Zona 23, Guanatos Hardcore Crew and Riot Lucha Libre. Vanguardia was founded in 2019 in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, with a management team that includes Mexican indie star Ciclope (not to be confused with the WCW luchador of the same name). Hardcore but also fast-paced, it’s more akin to US indies like Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) than it is Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
According to the release:
Lucha libre promotion Vanguardia has come to terms on a distribution agreement with IWTV.
One of Mexico’s most exciting independent promotions, Vanguardia features many of lucha libre’s most dynamic and violent wrestlers including Ciclope, Miedo Extremo and Draztick Boy.
Vanguardia premieres on IWTV on Thursday, July 9 at 8pm EDT with their October 3, 2019 show headlined by Los Mazisos (Ciclope and MIedo Extremo) vs Aeroboy and Violento Jack vs Crazy King and Lunatik Fly, with Japanese wrestling legend CIMA also in action.
Vanguardia features lots of rising young Mexican indie wrestlers, as well as appearances by the likes of CIMA, Negro Casas, Bandido, Flamita, Pagano, Black Taurus, Miedo Extremo, Aeroboy, Violento Jack, Los Terribles Cerebros (Cerebro Negro & Dr. Cerebro), and others.
