Entering his fifth year in the industry, Calvin Tankman came up through the Indiana indie scene, with Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws (WCWO) in Indianapolis and IWA Mid South, winning the IWA M-S Heavyweight Championship in 2018. He’s also worked for other Indiana promotions such as Wrestling Theology Fellowship (WTF), Fight Or Die Pro Wrestling (FxD), EMERGE Wrestling, Paradigm Pro Wrestling (PPW), and Bizarro Lucha, where he’s the current reigning Luchiversal Champion at 255-days. He’s also worked in Ohio with Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) and this past weekend made his debut for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).

“Calvin caught my eye for his athletic explosiveness and versatility as a competitor,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer in Wednesday’s press release. “There isn’t anyone like Calvin Tankman in the sport today and it is our privilege to share this extraordinary competitor with the world.” While Calvin Tankman stands 6’2″ and weighs in at 355 lbs., the big man also has uncanny agility for a man his size. “I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to show what I can do at the next level and MLW has given me that opportunity,” said Tankman in the MLW presser. “I want the money, championships, and everything MLW has to offer and I don’t care who I have to go through to get it. It doesn’t matter if it’s Fatu, Hammerstone, or anyone else on the roster when I step in the ring, I’m going to prove that I’m one of the best young wrestler in the world.”
