Anna Jay Joins the Dark Order as First Female Recruit

Anna Jay The Dark Order

The Dark Order continued to grow its ranks as on Wednesday night, Brodie Lee recruited the group’s first women’s division star in the newly signed Anna Jay. Following her loss to Abadon, who was announced as having joined All Elite Wrestling shortly after the match, members of the Dark Order ascended into the ring to help Jay up. No words were exchanged but as Brodie Lee reached out his hand and Jay accepted, it became clear that the Dark Order’s recruiting efforts were still going on in earnest.

The third Nightmare Factory trainee to join the Dark Order (Preston Vance and Alan Angels being the other two), Anna Jay first debuted in AEW in April. Following an impressive showing against current women’s champion Hikaru Shida, AEW announced that Jay had officially signed a contract with the company. Very new to wrestling, Jay began her career in 2019 and has wrestled with just a handful of matches in her short career. A native of Georgia, Jay is known for her time in Georgia Premier Wrestling and recently debuted with New Jersey’s Empower Wrestling as well.

“The Star of the Show,” Jay, who received her wrestling training from QT Marshall and WCW superstar Glacier, has received positive reactions to her time in AEW thus far, having made appearances on both DARK and Dynamite. While joining the Dark Order won’t guarantee Jay’s success, her addition as a female recruit is certainly intriguing. Jay now has a backing behind her as well as the numbers game which is sure to play into things as it has in many Dark Order matches to this point.

Could this move be one that helps Jay move one another step forward in AEW? Only time will tell. But certainly, the association with Dark Order should mean more air time and more matches for Jay, who is still in the very early stages of her wrestling career. She’s definitely a project but as the Dark Order has shown with their latest recruits, they are well-prepared to turn these projects into prospects.
