IMPACT Wrestling continues a strong run into the summer, adapting well to the roster shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and with faces slowly returning, it’s only going to get hotter! Last week saw the announcement of a Fatal Five Way for the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship at this year’s Slammiversary, while Deonna Purrazzo made her IMPACT debut outside of a brief vignette when she attacked Jordynne Grace, putting the Knockouts Champion on notice! Here’s a look at what to look forward to on Tuesday night.
XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) vs. Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend)
The big man tandem of Acey Romero and Larry D has been a pleasant addition to the IMPACT tag team division since being partnered at the IMPACT and Ohio Valley Wrestling co-production Outbreak this past February, drawing comparisons to former WWE Legends Earthquake & Typhoon, The Natural Disasters. This Ace Romero’s second incarnation of XXXL – he briefly teamed with Ring of Honor‘s Brian Milonas as XXXL in Beyond Wrestling in 2017 – but so far the group is doing well while finding their feet as a team. While they went 2-0 over oVe, they’ve struggled against The Rascalz and TJP & Fallah Bahh, so they’ll be looking for a big win to gain some momentum. They’re facing another team that will be looking for some momentum in the returning Reno Scum. The duo of Adam Thornstowe and Luster the Legend had found some prominence as the enforcers for Ace Austin, but after getting an IMPACT World Tag Team title shot early in their return to IMPACT late last year, they were struggling just before they went on hiatus (Thornstowe is a medical worker on the West Coast). They lost to Willie Mack in a handicap match and then lost to TJP & Fallah Bahh in a four-way in their last match on April 14. Both teams will need a big win on Tuesday to get moving in the title picture of IMPACT’s deep tag team division.
Rohit Raju vs. Rhino
Rohit Raju has been impressive so far since leaving Desi Hit Squad, but despite his showing and new aggression, he’s still failed to pick up a big win. His current path has been blocked by former World Champion Rhino. While Raju tried to smooth things over and attempt to form a tag team with the “Manbeast”, Rhino let him know that he already had a tag team partner and “he’s got kids”, which only angered Raju more. Now the two will meet one-on-one to settle their differences, but no one needs this win more than Rohit.
Street Fight: Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin
Right before he went on hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, Eddie Edwards was about to challenge for the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship. But Edwards couldn’t make IMPACT Rebellion and hadn’t been seen since on IMPACT TV since early April. Since then, Ace Austin has become #1 Contender, and now both find themselves in the Fatal Five Way at Slammiversary. Ahead of the big contest for the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship, the two have found a way to reconnect, after a long feud for part of 2019 saw Austin attempt to lure Eddie’s wife, Alisha Edwards, away from him. The feud broke Edwards in ways unseen since the Callihan bat incident. These two return to war in a Street Fight, so expect anything – and perhaps anyone – to join this battle.
Kimber Lee vs. Neveah
Neveah arrived in IMPACT Wrestling at the end of April and finally re-aligned with her Guardians of RISE Tag Team Champion partner Jessicka Havok a few weeks back to take out another new Knockout in SHIMMER Champion Kimber Lee. Now Kimber Lee looks for a measure of revenge as she gets ready to face off against “The Killer Death Machine” in Neveah’s IMPACT Wrestling in-ring debut.
Who is Deonna Purrazzo?
Deonna Purrazzo shocked the wrestling world weeks ago when she first appeared in a vignette announcing her arrival in IMPACT Wrestling following her departure from NXT and made a bigger boom last week when she attacked Jordynne Grace after her Knockouts title defense against Taya Valkyrie. On Tuesday, “The Virtuosa” will address her attack and let the IMPACT fans know exactly who they’re dealing with.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Moose (c) vs. Hernandez
Moose continues to defend the former TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt, determined to prove that not only he is the top star of the company but that the TNA World title is more prestigious World championship in the company. He faces a TNA Original in former LAX member Hernandez in a battle of two big strong dudes who absolutely dish out – and take – a lot of pain. It may not be pretty, but it could be a great brawl.
IMPACT World Tag Team Championships: The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) (c) vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)
The North finally defends the IMPACT World Tag Team titles on US soil in months (thanks to travel restrictions from their native Canada during the pandemic) and its against The Rascalz’ Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz. The Rascalz are long overdue a reign as tag team champions, but The North has been virtually unstoppable for almost a year as champions. Four great tag team wrestlers should guarantee match of the night, but we’ll have to see if Trey Miguel, the third Rascal, succumbs to paranoia over conspiracy theories that it was his own teammate Wentz who attacked him a few weeks back, knocking him from the #1 Contenders tournament final directly before the match.
