IndependentWrestling.tv (IWTV) continues its torrid pace of adding international promotions to the network, specifically focusing on the Japan region, with the announcement on Tuesday they were adding Big Japan Wrestling (BJW) to their line-up ongoing. BJW joins Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS, Sendai Girls, Dove Pro, Heat Up, PURE-J and Keigo Yoshino Produce as recent Japanese promotions to join IWTV.

Big Japan Wrestling was founded in 1995 by former Rikidōzan pupil, Shinya Koshika, better known by ring-name The Great Kojika. Big Japan followed in the footsteps of such promotions as Frontier Martial-arts Wrestling (FMW) and Wrestle Association-R (WAR), developing a harder style based on hardcore and King’s Road Style wrestling. Big Japan had been suffering some financial issues of late due to the shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so here’s hoping this new deal can help keep one of Japan’s top promotions afloat. Big Japan is best known as the home promotion for the likes of Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuki Okabayashi.
According to IWTV’s press release, “Big Japan will debut on the service with a series of streams starting on Thursday June 18th, with the events being available on demand soon thereafter.”
