Commentary On The Main Event Picture In IMPACT Wrestling

IMPACT Wrestling

Due to the coronavirus, IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard has been unable to compete. Eddie Edwards is also at home with his family deciding to not risk his health. Michael Elgin still wants another opportunity at the Impact World Championship. Moose has been parading around on IMPACT! for the past few weeks with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship as the self-proclaimed World Champion. IMPACT Wrestling recently started a tournament to determine the 1 Contender for Tessa and the IMPACT World Championship which has seen them move many up the card.

Former UFC legend Ken Shamrock has thrown his name into the world championship picture as well after his win over Sami Callihan at Rebellion. Ever since the empty arena shows, IMPACT has begun to elevate talent higher up the ladder like Trey Miguel and former X Division Champion Ace Austin. Both men have picked up significant wins over the course of the 1 Contender’s tournament. Now this coming Tuesday, both men will face off for the right to challenge Tessa Blanchard for the IMPACT World Championship. The main event scene in IMPACT is struggling even with these names.

With the loss of Brian Cage to All Elite Wrestling, Impact needs a top name to replace him. With the recent release of EC3 IMPACT needs to capitalize and re-sign him. EC3 could bring even more eyes to Impact and Impact needs that right now. They should also think about bringing back Eric Young, he would be a great asset to the IMPACT roster.  While maybe not immediate world champions both would slot into the top of the card easily.

Deonna Purrazzo would be a perfect replacement for Tessa Blanchard. The Knockouts don’t really have any top faces outside of Jordynne Grace and Rosemary. With the recent additions of Kylie Rae, Tasha Steelz, Kimber Lee, and Neveah the Knockouts are on fire right now and are one of the most stacked women’s divisions in North America. The Knockouts haven’t been this stacked since 2018. The sky is the limit not just for the Knockouts division but, given IMPACT’s strong push for intergender wrestling, the entire company.
