Cash Wheeler (formerly Dash Wilder in WWE’s The Revival) has seemingly confirmed earlier reports that the former 5x tag team champions in WWE (2x Raw, SmackDown, 2x NXT) will be known as The Revolt going forward. Cash posted a teaser video on his Twitter on Tuesday morning that showed the words “RESIST…REVIVE…REVOLT” before mentioning “FEAR THE REVOLT”, utilizing their popular FTR initials (which initially stood for Forever The Revival in WWE, after being started on the Young Buck‘s Being The Elite series as being F**k the Revival). Wheeler had previously trademarked #FTR, Fear The Revolt, Top Guys, and Fists Not Flips over the past year, in preparations for their WWE departure.

It should be noted that when initial reports of the name change to The Revolt first appeared, it caused some concern from the Carolinas territory. Since 2015, former IMPACT wrestler Caleb Konley and his tag partner Zane Riley have performed in a tag team called Revolt!, working primarily in one of the top indies in the Carolinas, Premier Wrestling Xperience (PWX) in North Carolina. They are the current PWX Tag Team Champions, in a reign that is approaching 460-days. Revolt! has also appeared for Joey Ryan‘s Bar Wrestling on the West Coast and appeared on the IMPACT Wrestling special with Wrestling Revolver special Tales From The Ring 3 last October. Konley’s disappointment with the new name is based on the fact that both Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood (formerly Scott Dawson) came through the North Carolina indie scene before signing with WWE, with Wheeler working in PWX and Harwood with Carolina Wrestling Federation (CWF) Mid-Atlantic and were apparently friends of theirs.
