Pro Wrestling NOAH ever since the beginning of this global pandemic has been at the forefront with the likes of DDT with their consistency of running shows. Because of this, NOAH was doing a completely normal schedule without fans for their Global Tag League. The result was very surprising
The tag league known as “Global Tag League” is the heavyweight tag tournament that features the very best tag teams of Pro Wrestling NOAH, which included last year’s finalists Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima the reigning tag team champions of Maasaki Mochizuki & Naomichi Marufuji. This tournament also included a brand new tag team of El Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr & former WWE Star Rene Dupree. The presence of this tag team was met with a surprise when they were first announced. But by the end of the tournament. It would be this tag team that got people talking.
In A Block, Wagner Jr. & Rene Dupree dominated the tournament by defeating the champions and some of the top stars in NOAH to get to the finals. In B Block, the tag team of Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima would suffer a humiliating loss from the veteran tag team of Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue with Saito pinning the GHC Heavyweight Champion, Go Shiozaki. But the champion & his best buddy would go into the finals against Wagner Jr. & Rene Dupree.
In the finals after a brutal 27-minute match, Rene Dupree & El Hijo De LA Park would pull off a major upset over the top tag team of NOAH and win the Global Tag League Tournament. This is the first time both El Hijo De LA Park & Rene Dupree have accomplished something within Pro Wrestling NOAH. Because of this win, Rene & El Hijo have an opportunity to become GHC Heavyweight Tag Champions facing Maasaki Mochizuki & Naomichi Marufuji at a later date.
