Another week has flown by and another installment of AEW Dynamite has arrived. As the COVID-19 epidemic persists, lockdowns continue – meaning yet another behind-closed-doors show tonight. The card, however, is pretty stacked – featuring a main event Tony Khan dubbed “the most eagerly anticipated showdown in AEW history”. Surely, then, this won’t disappoint. Let us dive into the preview!
The most anticipated match in #AEWDynamite history will also be the most brutal & memorable match we’ve put on TV as @JonMoxley defends the AEW World Title vs. @RealJakeHager No Holds Barred with @JRsBBQ on the call. I believe this will be known as the best empty arena match ever pic.twitter.com/hHcyzwdAsX

Britt Baker In Action
Fresh off of her defeat to Hikaru Shida last week, Britt Baker returns to in-ring action. Since debuting on AEW Dyamite last year, Britt Baker has been one of the most-improved stars on the roster. A virtually unknown performer, she has established herself pretty well as one of the main-stays of the women’s division since being the first female acquisition signed to All Elite Wrestling. One must assume that it is only a matter of time before the dentist rises to the pinnacle of AEW’s women roster. Who will her mystery opponent be tonight? Stay tuned!
Shawn Spears In Action
After Britt Baker’s billed match comes the advertisement of Shawn Spears‘ return to action. Much like Baker, Spears is fresh off a defeat at last week’s Dynamite. Cody managed to pull off a win against Spears, meaning the self-proclaimed “Perfect 10” has work to do this week. We do not currently know who his opponent is going to be, but one must assume Spears grabs a much-needed win. Since joining All Elite Wrestling, Spears has had as many defeats as anyone. Expect a return to form here.
Kip Sabian W/Penelope Ford vs Chuck Taylor W/Orange Cassidy
Kip Sabian squares off with Chuck Taylor this week. Sabian will have the reliable support of manager, Penelope Ford, in his corner. Chuckie T will be joined by Universal King of Pockets, Orange Cassidy. Chuck Taylor comes into this match after a massive win last week. Chuckie T, with best friend, Trent, successfully pulled off a victory against Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa. There was much on the line, as the Best Friends promised to drop the “Best Friends” moniker if they lost. Of course, friendship prevails and the duo proved to be better friends than Omega and Nakazawa. Sabian defeated Tony Donati on AEW Dark last week and will hope to get another big win here.
Sammy Guevara vs Sugar Dunkerton
Sammy Guevara‘s last appearance on Dynamite was a tag team victory with Shawn Spears against Cody and Darby Allin. Sugar D‘s last appearance for All Elite Wrestling came during an episode of AEW Dark on March 18th, where he was defeated by Kip Sabian. Guevara has been one of the breakout non-former WWE stars on Dynamite and it is probable he scores another victory here. Expect a fun match.
TNT Championship Tournament – Lance Archer vs Colt Cabana
The TNT Championship Tournament rages on with Lance Archer taking on Colt Cabana. Both men are currently undefeated in AEW, but one streak must end in this Quarter Final match-up. Since joining AEW, Cabana has defeated both Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon on episodes of AEW Dark. His sole AEW Dynamite match saw him team with SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) and overcome The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, John Silver & Stu Grayson). Since squashing Marko Stunt in his debut match, Archer has gone on to similarly dismember Alan Angles on last week’s Dynamite. Who wins this battle of the veterans? Tune in tonight to find out.
Empty Arena No Holds Barred – Jon Moxley (C) vs Jake Hager
And here it is; our main event of the evening. Jake Hager challenges Jon Moxley for his AEW World Championship in a match AEW owner Tony Khan has dubbed “The most anticipated match in AEW Dynamite history”. The undefeated Hager will look to achieve the biggest win of his professional wrestling career in this No Holds Barred match-up. Mox has had seventeen matches in AEW; losing only one – with PAC against Adam Page & Kenny Omega (10/23/2019). However, it is worth noting that PAC took the fall in that match, therefore making Moxley undefeated in AEW. Therefore, it is fair to agree with Khan’s view of this match being so hotly anticipated. Shockingly, Moxley and Hager never wrestled one-on-one in WWE (as Dean Ambrose and Jack Swagger), so this is truly a first-time match-up. Who wins here? It is hard to call. It is perhaps too soon for Mox to lose the championship, but anything is possible against a guy like Hager. Do not miss this match.
