Giulia has won Stardom’s Cinderella Tournament 2020. The leader of Donna Del Mondo defeated Natsuko Tora in the finals after defeating faction mate Syuri, Momo Watanabe, and Jungle Kyona in the previous rounds of the tournament.
The former Ice Ribbon tag team champion Giulia made a controversial jump to Stardom in late 2019 and ever since her arrival has been pushed hard, she is yet to be pinned or submit in Stardom. She was also one of the four women chosen to compete on the Wrestle Kingdom pre-show and has been given her own faction. Stardom risked a lot to get her and it’s clear they see her as a big star even though it doesn’t appear that the crowd has taken to her yet.
With this win, Giulia joins Arisa Hoshiki, Mayu Iwatani, Momo Watanabe, Toni Storm, and many more as former winners of the Cinderella tournament. Between this and her Artist Of Stardom title win, she’s already had a very successful spell in Stardom just months into her tenure with the company.
The winner of Cinderella Tournament gets a wish granted and Giulia has made it clear she wants a match with Arisa Hoshiki, presumably for the Wonder Of Stardom championship. What better way to make Giulia a star than to have her end the dominant white belt reign of Arisa Hoshiki?
