Proteus Champion Paul Robinson has been announced as the latest entrant in the Super Strong Style 16 tournament. The PROGRESS original has become a central part of the promotion ever since winning the Proteus title.
Robinson has been involved in some of the biggest angles in PROGRESS history. His turning on Will Ospreay helped to set in motion the Jimmy Havoc/Ospreay feud that defined PROGRESS’ early days. He was also a member of Havoc’s Regression stable and his inevitable feud with Havo saw both go to some extremely violent depths.
Nowadays Robinson is someone that is unique to PROGRESS with the fanbase warming up to him and his antics over time making him a really popular part of the roster, even though he is still a very heelish man. A Paul Robinson victory in this tournament would go down well with the PROGRESS fanbase as he could play up the fact he is a PROGRESS regular in a field of outsiders and NXT UK talents.
