After picking up an injury at the 9th Annual Square Go!, it has been announced that the reigning Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) Women’s World Champion Aivil will be forced to relinquish the title. ‘The Twisted Priestess’ will officially give up the title at the upcoming Fight Club tapings on Sunday, March 1st.

Aivil, who also occasionally competes under the alias of Jokey in other promotions, finally achieved her goal of winning ICW’s women’s title at Fear & Loathing XII by defeating then-champion Kasey to lift the strap. Since then, the Italian native has been a fighting champion, retaining her strap against NXT UK‘s Isla Dawn (the match in which she got injured in), as well as against Mila Smidt over in Switzerland. That defence maintained the title’s status as a world championship, having become a world title in September 2018 after Viper successfully defended her title against IMPACT Wrestling star Taya Valkyrie.
It’s never a happy occasion seeing a star going down with an injury, especially when it means they have to relinquish something they’ve worked immensely hard to achieve. Aivil has been a core member of the ICW’s women’s division for some time now, originally being introduced as a member of Legion by Mikey Whiplash. Since then, she’s transformed from Jokey to Aivil, and had incredible bouts with Kasey, Kay Lee Ray, and Viper, amongst others.
While it hasn’t been announced what the official injury actually is, we can all but hope for a speedy recovery for Aivil!
