Raw Highlights – Asuka And Kairi Sane Are Pure Greatness (2/17/20)

Raw

This probably goes without saying, but the sooner WWE Super Showdown comes, the better. It has been difficult to live with as the episodes of SmackDown and Raw, a show that was on the trend up, being rather subpar at best. This show was different. Different in the sense that the small things building to the PPV after Super Showdown, Elimination Chamber, made this show even slightly acceptable. Otherwise, it was another week of waste for Kevin Owens. Thankfully we have Asuka and Kairi Sane. Here are the highlights.

Shayna Baszler Promises To See Becky Lynch At WrestleMania

One week after the bite heard around the world, Becky Lynch was out for retribution against Shayna Baszler. However, it was announced earlier Monday that the women’s Elimination Chamber match would decide who faces Lynch at WrestleMania for the Raw Women’s Championship. Baszler happened to be in the match, and she made that perfectly clear. She reminded Lynch that she was made inside a cage. This was all in her favor. Instead of Lynch avoiding the fight, “The Man” made it clear that she will keep her eyes on the match and was hoping to see her be the one to face her at WrestleMania. The feud is only beginning.

Sermon Leads To War For Seth Rollins And His Disciples

The world knew that Seth Rollins, “The Monday Night Messiah,” would deliver his first sermon on Raw. In that sermon, Rollins told the roster that if they want to stand in the way of step two of his vision, that will be taken care of. The Viking Raiders and Kevin Owens continued to be thorns in the side of Rollins, leading to a match later in the night.

Murphy and the AOP vs The Viking Raiders and Kevin Owens

I could talk about the greatness of these six competitors, but you probably already assume Seth Rollins got involved. That he did. After Owens hit the Stunner on Murphy, Rollins came down and broke up the pin. The beat down was on before The Street Profits made the save. By doing so, they earned the shot at Rollins and Murphy for the Raw Tag Team Championships at Super Showdown. The biggest takeaway, however, is that Montez Ford remains a star that will be here for the long haul.

Raw MVP: Asuka and Kairi Sane

We are not worthy, folks. Whatever we did to get the pleasure of watching Asuka and Kairi Sane together, great job. The pureness that both women exude is something that can not be topped. Sane is simply incredible in what she does because she is so real. Her and Asuka dancing as an unconscious Natalya missed the 10-count to lose the match was something that can be put on replay. Let us also add the fact that these two are among the best all of WWE has to offer and are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions of the world. We could go on and on about how incredible these two women are, but simply put they are the MVP because of how great they prove to be on a weekly basis.

If reports are to be believed, our time with Kairi Sane may not be lasting much longer. So we cherish these moments of her doing the “Thriller” dance in the ring and running around and teasing her opponents in so many ways. Kairi Sane is a national treasure. Asuka is the same. Together, they give us one of the best acts in the WWE. The fact people are supposed to boo them remains hysterical.
