Rickey Shane Page Retains GCW World Title, Eric Ryan Joins RSP

It was a hellacious night to say the least, on Saturday night at Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)‘s Run Rickey Run, that saw Rickey Shane Page retain the GCW World Heavyweight Championship over Nick Gage. Like anything involving Page and his new stable, 44OH, it ended in chaos, with longtime GCW regular Eric Ryan defecting to RSP’s 44OH camp. The result was strongly rejected by the GCW fan base, who showered the ring with an incredible amount of garbage.

44OH has sprung up as Page’s new stable of minions, featuring Atticus Cogar, Gregory Iron and Eddy Only. The group acquired their fifth member on Saturday night with Eric Ryan turning on Nick Gage.

It was what some thought would be the culmination of a six month story arc that saw Page attack Nick Gage last September and steal Gage’s World title. Over the coming months, Page would bait Gage, teasing him at shows the two were booked on, while bringing the GCW World title – now spray painted with RSP – around the world like “a real World Champion”.

Nick Gage would ultimately lose his World Championship status at Long. Live. GCW. in December, to AJ Gray. RSP ruined Gray’s party though, by cashing in a title shot opportunity, defeating Gray before he could even celebrate his own victory. Many thought Nick Gage would finally gain his revenge on Saturday night, but Eric Ryan’s defection proved to be too much, and Rickey Shane Page retained the title. And the blood feud between RSP and Nick Gage will now continue into 2020.
