A Valentine’s Day edition of SmackDown was underway on Friday night with Otis‘ big date with his peach, Mandy Rose, set to highlight the episode. Also a surprising appearance by Hulk Hogan ahead of his Hall of Fame induction alongside the nWo. Here are the highlights for the Feb. 14 edition of SmackDown.
Bayley Defends Her Championship, History To Be Made
Bayley was set to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship on SmackDown against Carmella after the challenger earned the opportunity last week against Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke, and Naomi. Carmella demanded it to be earlier after Bayley interrupted her interview on “A Moment of Bliss.” So the match was underway and at times, the crowd and everyone else in the arena almost saw a new champion, with Carmella having the chance of winning against her former best friend. She locked on the Code of Silence and Bayley seemed she was bound to tap, but she swung at the elbow to free herself. Ultimately, she used the ropes to get the advantage and pin Carmella to get the win.
After the match, Bayley beat down Carmella before Naomi came down to stop it. They teamed to attack the champion, who would leave frustrated despite winning. She announced in the back that she will defend her championship at WWE Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia, marking the first-ever women’s championship match in history in the country. The challenger will be decided next week between Naomi and Carmella.
Bray Wyatt Pulls nWo Entrance, Interrupts Hulk Hogan On Special Firefly Fun House
Hulk Hogan joined us via satellite this week, as he was asked about Goldberg‘s chances against “The Fiend.” He talked about the fact that he faced Goldberg in his prime (don’t know if that was his “prime” necessarily) and that “The Fiend” should be prepared to face the wrath. Then an old fashioned nWo interruption appeared, but it was the Firefly Fun House edition and Bray Wyatt even pulled out the entrance. What was most important to notice here was that Bray told Hogan there is room on the wall if he wanted to mess with “The Fiend.” Hogan left leading to a promise being made by Wyatt that he will see him later and Goldberg very soon.

We all love Otis. He is the man’s man. The perfect guy to cheer on in any and all situations. So this was finally the moment that Otis gets his date with his longtime peach, Mandy Rose. Rose showed up to the restaurant rather early as Tucker attempted to get Otis ready for the big day. But, by the time Otis showed up he looked at the table and it was Dolph Ziggler who stole his spot and the date from Otis, leaving Otis and all of us heartbroken. This story does not have an ending in sight, but hopefully, Otis can fix this and kill Ziggler on the way.
Goldberg will be live next week on SmackDown, with John Cena‘s grand return for the first time since WrestleMania last year coming in two weeks time. Until then, SmackDown may have one bad week left.
