The New England indie scene was shocked on Saturday to discover that near 30-year veteran “Nightmare” Nick Steel has passed away.
Thoughts and prayers to my Massachusetts wrestling family. @TopRopePro was one of my favorite places to be and a special place in my heart and Nick Steel was one of the nicest kindest people to be around and always a great time hangin out with back in the day. Rip Brother pic.twitter.com/TtQLMOcDae

Nick Steel began his pro wrestling journey in 1991 and by the end of the decade had become a regular with Top Rope Promotions, based out of Fall River, Massachussets. A former 2x TRP Heavyweight Champion , the Salem native was a longtime veteran and mentor of the New England scene, also working with the likes of Beyond Wrestling, Rhode Island’s Power League Wrestling and Connecticut’s Eastern Pro Wrestling (EPW).
LWOPW extend their sincerest condolences to the Steel family, friends, fans, and peers.

This one is hard.
Tomorrow I was supposed to manage Nick Steele for Top Rope Pro.
Unfortunately, Nick passed away this morning. I'm sad, but I know he'll be trying not to laugh at the dumb things I say and do. He was a real man and I'll miss him.
Til we meet again my friend
