Travis Banks has become the third entrant announced for PROGRESS Wrestling’s Super Strong Style 16 tournament. Banks is a previous winner of the tournament as he would win in 2017 by defeating Tyler Bate in the final. Banks would go on to win the PROGRESS world championship by defeating Pete Dunne. This tournament has served as a launching pad for Banks in the past and he will love nothing more than the chance to win it again and take himself into the PROGRESS title picture.
The NXT UK star has lost some momentum since joining the brand but as he showed recently at World’s Collide he hasn’t lost a step and his addition to the tournament boosts the potential for great matches as Banks has only improved as a wrestler since joining NXT UK.
Travis Banks isn’t likely to win the tournament but beating him would be a big moment for anyone and could be used to put over an eventual winner/finalist by giving them a win over a former PROGRESS world champion.
