Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport Begins Unveiling Combatants

Bloodsport

Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport has become another signature event from Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), as former UFC Champion and NJPW star Josh Barnett hosts a physical shoot-style event featuring some of the world’s toughest wrestlers and fighters. This WrestleMania Week, as part of the GCW Collective, it will be happening on Thursday April 2 at 8pm at the Cuban Club in the Ybor City suburb of Tampa. The first few names have been announced, as well as two great matches.

Jeff Cobb is Heading to Bloodsport

The suplex machine Jeff Cobb has become a major star with Ring of Honor and NJPW over the past year and now he’s heading to his first Bloodsport event. With his arsenal of suplex and power moves, Cobb should fit in well with the card.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is Returning to Bloodsport

Davey Boy Smith Jr. returns to his third Bloodsport event, an event that this true catch wrestler has starred in. He’s undefeated so far at Bloodsport, defeating Killer Kross at the first Josh Barnett incarnation last WrestleMania Week, and then defeating “Filthy” Tom Lawlor at this past fall’s event. Fiercely technical and impressively strong, Smith Jr. is one of Bloodsports legitimat threats.

Killer Kelly is Heading to Bloodsport

A member of the NXT UK roster, Killer Kelly spends most of her time with Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw), England’s Pro Wrestling EVE, and Japan’s Sendai Girls. This WrestleMania Week, she’s heading for her first Bloodsport, and the former wXw Women’s Champion has all the cred to make it a great fight.

Josh Barnett vs. Jon Moxley

This massive match-up, featuring the host Josh Barnett against AEW’s Jon Moxley, was originally slated to headline last fall’s incarnation, but due to staph infection, Moxley had to withdraw. Now that’s he’s healthy again, the fight is back on and will be the marquee main event this WrestleMania Week.

Minoru Suzuki vs. Chris Dickinson

An absolute dream match, as two of the industry’s most methodical strikers face off. NJPW‘s Minoru Suzuki is heading to his third Bloodsport, having defeated Matt Riddle at the first ever Bloodsport in 2018, and then fighting Josh Barnett to a time limit draw last WrestleMania Week in New Jersey. Chris Dickinson is heading to his fourth consecutive Bloodsport. The Beyond Wrestling and GCW star had an explosive 2019, and now looks to improve his Bloodsport record in 2020. Dickinson lost to Dan “The Beast” Severn in 2018, bested Andy Williams (from The Butcher & The Blade) in New Jersey last spring, but lost to Josh Barnett in this past fall’s encounter. This will be an amazing matchup, mind you, regardless of who wins.
