On Wednesday night’s NXT, we witnessed the finals of the excellent Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, as The Broserweights face The Grizzled Young Veterans. Viewers will also be treated to the long-awaited grudge match between Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai. With that said, let’s dive in!
FINN BALOR RUNS THROUGH TRENT SEVEN
This match is the result of Mustache Mountain making the save at Worlds Collide and an assault by Finn Balor. While Trent Seven was able to get in decent offense including a “Seven Star Lariat”, Balor was ruthless and dominant throughout.
This isn't adding insult to injury.
It's adding INJURY to injury. 😥#WWENXT @FinnBalor @trentseven pic.twitter.com/JFW6zjwHd2

The tone was set when Balor nailed Seven with a cheap dropkick and the brutality just continued throughout. A nasty shotgun dropkick sent Seven into the bottom turnbuckle and was followed up by a “Coupe De Grace” and a “1916”.
DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC MAKES CLAIM TO NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Keith Lee made his way to the ring, hoping to bask in his title victory. Instead, he had two challengers step forward. Damian Priest and Dominik Dijakovic, each had their own approach but both made it clear they wanted to be next for Lee.

William Regal made the match official shortly after and the two men went to war. Neither man really had the edge and it legitimately felt like either man could win. Dijakovic would emerge victorious after nailing an opportunistic “Feast Your Eyes”.
TEGAN NOX GAINS A BIT OF REVENGE AGAINST DAKOTA KAI
Fast and furious is the best way to describe the match between Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai. Kai replayed the footage of her injuring Nox, lighting a fire under “The Welsh Wonder” from the start. These women nailed each other with flurries of brutal strikes.
She's going for the brace!

Kai looked to assault Nox with a steel chair, but Candice LeRae intervened to prevent the attack. While the referee was distracted, Nox blasted Kai with a knee brace and followed with “The Shiniest Wizard” for the win.
KAYDEN CARTER PLAYS SPOILER FOR CHELSEA GREEN’S NXT IN-RING DEBUT

Chelsea Green made her in-ring debut on NXT against the always impressive Kayden Carter. It seemed to be going the way a lot of Carter’s matches have, with Carter looks super impressive only to lose at the last moment.
This time was different, just as Green was on the verge of victory following a big boot, Carter caught her in a small package. Three seconds later, Carter had scored her first televised win and possibly her first significant rivalry. Green and her manager Robert Stone both protested the loss as the segment ended.
THE BROSERWEIGHTS WIN THE DUSTY CLASSIC
The Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) squared off with The Broserweights (Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle) for the Dusty Cup and a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships. Much like the entire tournament, this was just an excellent display of tag team wrestling.

Dunne and Riddle continued to demonstrate their incredible chemistry, continually innovating tandem offense. Drake and Gibson showed why they belong on the main NXT stage. The UK tandem is a throwback, using old school psychology mixed with a more athletic move-set.
The newly formed Broserweights would pick up the win following a “Bro to Sleep/Enzuguri” combination for the win. It was a hard-fought win and a must-watch match-up. Riddle and Dunne posed with the trophy as the fireworks went off and the show faded to black.
CEL-EBRATE GOOD TIMES with the #BROserweights and the #WWENXT Universe!
