SmackDown Highlights: “The Fiend” Leaves A Gore Message (1/24/20)

Smackdown

The final show before the Royal Rumble is here! Friday Night SmackDown was live in Dallas, TX as it was the go-home show for the Rumble. There was plenty to happen, as competitors built themselves up to get some last needed momentum prior to the biggest opportunity of their careers as they can get to WrestleMania this Sunday. Also, it was time to see what was next between “The Fiend” and Daniel Bryan ahead of the Universal Championship strap match this Sunday. Highlights time!

SmackDown Highlights (1/24/20)

Hot Opener Between The Bloodline And King Corbin’s Kingdom

Smackdown

There are matches that can get any night in wrestling off to a good start. In somewhat of a preview for Sunday, it was Roman Reigns teaming with his family, The Usos, to take on King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. And boy was the crowd up for this one, as it seemed they were invested from the opening bell to the final three count. Reigns and Corbin have been in a blood feud for what feels like forever and all should find an end on Sunday. Jimmy Uso hurt himself early on in the match, leading the trainers to take him to the back and making Reigns and Jey Uso have to stay alive for the team.

But as the match came to a close and Jey was taken out on the outside, Jimmy ran down to the ring and make the tag. Reigns and Corbin fought around the arena and out to the back. With that said, it came down to The Usos vs Ziggler and Roode. Ziggler attempted to get Jimmy Uso’s attention towards the end of the match, but Jey was there to take him out. An Uso Splash to Robert Roode would get The Bloodline a needed win ahead of Sunday while Reigns and Corbin were nowhere to be found.

John Morrison Moves To 2-0 On Smackdown

The Miz and John Morrison announced that they will be entering the Royal Rumble match, moving the total to 27 names. But what mattered most is that John Morrison improved his record since returning to 2-0, as he pinned the former WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston, in the middle of the ring with Starship Pain. He has all the momentum in the world heading into Sunday.

“The Fiend” Puts Down Daniel Bryan During Contract Signing

Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt went back and forth as Wyatt revealed that this is all about Bryan’s mistake in the past when he turned on him and the Wyatt Family all those years ago. He said it’d be more fitting for “The Fiend” to sign the contract since it won’t be him fighting Daniel this Sunday. As “The Fiend” appeared, it was all domination of Bryan as the mandible claw and Sister Abigail put him down. He ripped off the shirt of Bryan and began to beat him with the strap that will be used on Sunday. “The Fiend” signed the contract by stabbing himself and covering it in his blood. Psychotic.
