With all of the fallout from TakeOver: Blackpool II, NXT UK were back in Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom for another action-packed show, featuring all of the fallout from that event.
Ohno Meets His Match

After claiming to be the best British wrestler the scene has ever seen, Kassius Ohno came across Dave Mastiff in this week’s main event, with ‘The Bomber’ keen to establish his dominance over the NXT UK roster with a victory over the artist formerly known as Chris Hero. As has become typical of Ohno’s NXT UK matches as of late, ‘The Wrestling Genius’ utilised a series of technical olds to wear down Mastiff as opposed to his strike-based offence he had become known for on the independent circuit. Obviously, it would take a lot more than that to take down the super heavyweight, as we saw as he performed a huge rolling senton slam off the ropes. One Into The Void later, and Kassius Ohno was defeated while Dave Mastiff scored a mammoth victory.
Is @JosephConners #NXTUKTakeOver worthy?

He Is Worthy
Clearly, general manager Johnny Saint and his assistant Sid Scala have it in for Joseph Conners. After leaving him off the TakeOver card, the managerial pair then had ‘The Righteous Killer’ compete in Blackpool on the regular NXT UK broadcast – a bittersweet feeling for Conners. His match with A-Kid was brilliant though, in fairness, with both men doing everything they could to show Saint and Scala exactly why they should be in consideration for the bigger opportunities. Conners used a hard-hitting arsenal to easily weaken the Spanish sensation, but that didn’t necessarily take out A-Kid. He put in a brilliant effort, and almost came out on top thanks to an inside cradle, while also kicking the living hell out of Conners. Perhaps he saw Jordan Devlin in the ring instead of Conners. However, he would be put away following a Don’t Look Down as Joseph Conners picked up another huge victory in NXT UK.
What Else?
In addition to this, several segments and matches were announced for next week’s episode of NXT UK. We’ll hear from Imperium (WALTER, Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner, and Marcel Barthel) for the first time since they were ambushed by The Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly) at TakeOver, while Ilja Dragunov will be in action. Jazzy Gabert will face off Killer Kelly, plus the final two members of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match at Worlds Collide will be decided as Jordan Devlin faces Ligero, and Travis Banks goes up against 205 Live‘s The Brian Kendrick to see who joins Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and defending champion Angel Garza on January 25th.
