Greatest BLP Rumble feat. Ethan Page, Gary Jay, Wheeler YUTA, Aaron Williams, Billie Starkz, Joshua Bishop, Graham Bell, Logan James, Blair Onyx, Thomas Shire, Lord Crewe, Alice Crowley, Project MONIX
A lot of veterans and rising stars in this BLP Rumble, which should provide a diverse showcase of talent. Ethan Page has to be a favorite as he tries to get himself back into the BLP Championship race. Page is joined by veterans like Gary Jay and Thomas Shire, as well as a slew of top prospects looking to break out in 2020, like Billie Starkz, Joshua Bishop, and Project MONIX. Should be a great way to scout some wrestlers bound become proper regulars with BLP in the coming year.
Jason Cade vs. Jonathan Wolf
Indie veteran Jason Cade has long been one of the most underrated US indie stars of the past decade and on Saturday he makes his BLP debut. Cade came up through the Florida indies, with FEST Wrestling and Full Impact Pro, and has since gone on to work across the US and Canada. He had a brief stint with Major League Wrestling (MLW) and has since worked for both IMPACT and Ring of Honor. His opponent is a rising star in Johnathan Wolf. Wolf is part of the IFHY faction and works tag matches with the group, but his maturity in 2019 has seen his singles work soar.
Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku) vs. Corn Beef (1 Called Manders & “Big Beef” Gnarls Garvin)
Violence is Forever (formerly Sadkampf) has been a tag team on the rise in 2019 and look to explode in 2020. The pairing of former EVOLVE star Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku has become one of the top tag teams in the US indies, holding the tag team teams for both Pro Wrestling Freedoms (PWF) in Indiana and Southern Underground Pro (SUP) in Nashville. They’re gunning for the Black Label Pro Tag Team Champions trio of Ethan Page, Danhausen and Swoggle, but first they have to face off against Corn Beef on Saturday. Corn Beef is a relatively new pairing that sees 1 Called Manders and “Big Beef” Gnarls Garvin working together, in hopes of getting a shot at tag team gold.
Alex Shelley vs. Isaias Velazquez
Although he’s making headlines again with the reformation of Time Splitters with KUSHIDA in NXT, Alex Shelley is still working the US indies and the indie veteran is facing one of the gatekeepers of the Midwest in Chicago’s Isaias Velazquez, a former 2x Freelance Wrestling World Champion. This one should be a clinic.
Rocky Romero vs. Ophidian
It’s NJPW vs. CHIKARA on Saturday, as CHAOS’ Rocky Romero returns for a rare US appearance. Romero is facing off against longtime CHIKARA veteran Ophidian. Both men are top trainers in the world as well, so expect an instant classic between two incredibly talented men.
Black Label Pro Midwest Championship: AJ Gray (c) vs. Hammerstone
A preview of two men who should have a HUGE 2020. Hammerstone went from a West Coast star to a national treasure when he joined MLW. Since then he’s become the MLW National Heavyweight Champion and worked for Pro Wrestling NOAH, becoming one of the 2019’s breakout star nationally (and internationally). His opponent, the MLW Midwest Champion AJ Gray, has also had a stellar past year, winning gold in the Midwest area on multiple times – he’s also the Glory Pro Crown of Glory Champion and beat Nick Gage for the GCW World title. He recently made his Beyond Wrestling debut, opening up a whole new world for Gray in 2020.
Black Label Pro Championship: Erick Stevens (c) vs. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor
At Slamilton 2, former ROH star Erick Stevens – who has an impressive run since returning to the sport last year after a 10-year hiatus – finally knocked off Kobe Durst to become the new BLP Heavyweight Champion. On Saturday, his comeback tour continues as he faces “Filthy” Tom Lawlor – the inaugural BLP Heavyweight Champion in 2017 – in Stevens’ first title defense.
IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship: WARHORSE (c) vs. Kylie Rae
WARHORSE continues his extraordinary run as the IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion. In 116 days as champion, he’s already had 26 title defenses since capturing the title from Erick Stevens at BLP Turbo Graps 16 in September (breaking “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams’ record of 18 defenses, although that was throughout over 300+ days as champ). He’s putting it on the line once again, with his 27th defense, against reigning Freelance World Champion Kylie Rae. Since taking time off after departing AEW, Kylie Rae has returned to the US indies with a new passion and will look to add more gold around her waist.
