Chris Jericho Asks NJPW and AEW To Put Politics, Hurt Feelings Aside for “Big Business”

After defeating New Japan “Ace” Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14 as part of the events of Wrestle Kingdom 14‘s second night, Chris Jericho had some strong words for both NJPW and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to kiss and make-up in the spirit of “big business”.

“Put aside all hurt feelings, put aside all the egos, put aside all of the issues and politics and concentrate on great wrestling matches and big business,” Chris Jericho told reporters, post-match. “I haven’t been doing this at the highest of levels for 29 years as what some people say the greatest of all time because I’m a stupid businessman. I can see the amount of money that we could make together with AEW and New Japan, both here in Japan and in the United States, and Canada, and England, and Australia, and all around the world.”

It’s interesting to note that Jericho decided to leave the AEW World Championship title shot on the table for Tanahashi as pre-Wrestle Kingdom, it was only available if the 21-year veteran and former 8x IWGP Heavyweight Champion could defeat Jericho on last night’s card. “So even though I beat Tanahashi tonight, I would be more than willing to wrestle him again, any time, and I’d be willing to give him an AEW title shot,” Jericho continued. “And Okada. And Naito, and Suzuki, and Ibushi, and Ospreay.”
