Shine Wrestling had a busy weekend with a double serving of women’s wrestling. At Shine 63, Allysin Kay defended her Shine Championship against Mercedes Martinez. Martinez put all her cards on the line, wagering her Shine career if she was unable to win. After a hard-fought match in Livonia, the Latina Sensation unseated the AK47 as Shine Champion. This ends Kay’s reign at 221 days. Martinez’s trophy case grows to 20 titles held across her illustrious career.

There wouldn’t be any rest for the new champion, though. Following her victory, Martinez had her first title defense at Shine 64. It was also against an opponent she knew very well, Ivelisse. As Las Sicarias, they were tag team champions for over a year, 434 days. Their partnership imploded as both wanted to challenge Allysin Kay for the Shine Championship. Neither were successful until Martinez triumphed at Shine 63. It was another knockdown drag-out style match as both women would give their all. Ivelisse would pick up the win after an injury scare with Mercedes with her feet on the ropes. This makes Ivelisse the only three-time Shine Champion in history.
No hype…
No Fanfare…
Just Business!
Her legendary saga with @RealMMartinez will definitely continue but tonight @RealIvelisse provided the perfect twist!

The other focus of the weekend was the Shine Nova Championship tournament. The finalists would be the Russian Crush, Natalia Markova and the American Kaiju, Lindsay Snow. To get to the final, Markova had to go through Jenna, Avery Taylor and the Weapon of Ass Destruction, Double D’Rose. Lindsay had to best Jayme Jameson, Brandi Lauren, and Stormie Lee to get to the finals. This is the Russian’s second only title in the United States. She is a former six-time International Wrestling Federation Women’s Champion in her motherland. Markova also briefly held the ACW Women’s Championship.
She came…

She CRUSHED!!!!!
She is @RealNMarkova. And she is the NEW @WWNSHINE Nova Champion!!!
