RISE returns to the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL for their final event of 2019, La Escalera. To say they have stacked the card would be an understatement. This will be one of Shotzi Blackheart’s final independent appearances; it will also be the final chapter in her war with Rosemary. Kylie Rae, Jamie Senegal, and Candy Lee will be returning to the promotion as well. Big Swole and The Killer Death Machines will defend their titles. And for the first time in the Berwyn Eagles Club, there will be a ladder match!
Paradise Lost vs. Witch Please
Being led as always by the Demon Assassin Rosemary, Dust and Raven’s Ash will prepare to rise on Friday night. They will take on the new tag team of Witch Please consisting of Elayna Black and Hawlee Cromwell. Black and Cromwell are very young, 18 and 24 years old respectively. Elayna is a Midwest native who’s competed at RISE 13, Pride & Joy, and the Midwest Bracket of the Regional Rising Stars tournament. She also appeared on IMPACT’s Prelude to Glory earlier this month. Cromwell calls the PNW home where she competes for 3-2-1 Battle, as well as many promotions across the Midwest and South. The former Guardians of RISE will have their hands full with this young and hungry duo.
Team Sea Stars vs. The Latina Superstars
Continuing with the theme of tag team wrestling, we have the Sea Stars taking on another newly formed team, the Latina Superstars. Team Sea Stars are the sister-duo of Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo. Ashley recently signed with and debuted for the NWA. Delmi is currently one-half of the WSU Tag Team Champions with Kasey Catal.

Mercedes Martinez has recognized the talent and ability of Miranda Alize. According to the Latina Sensation, the only member of the RISE roster to step up her game and raise to her level is Miranda. Now the two shall join forces and have their sights set on the Guardians of RISE Championships. If they want a shot at the champs, they’ll have to make an impact at La Escalera.
Legends Match with Special Guest Referee Colt Cabana
Cassandro El Exotico vs. Saraya Knight
We have a very special legend match scheduled as well. Cassandro El Exotico, who made his debut at Pride & Joy, returns for La Escalera. He will be taking on the fearsome mother of the Knight family, Saraya Knight. The last time we saw Saraya in RISE she attempted to hang Su Yung. Cassandro has faced tough competitors before, but no one in the world is quite like Saraya. Chicago’s own Colt Cabana will also be the special guest referee for this contest.
First-Ever Savage AF Match
Allysin Kay vs. Taya Valkyrie
The King of Savages, the current NWA World Women’s Champion will be taking on La Wera Loca, the current IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion. Both Allysin Kay and Taya Valkyrie have displayed their respective savagery on social media and in the ring. They have faced off in the past, twice in tag team matches, once in a triple threat and once in singles. This was before the AK47’s health crisis which caused her to miss several months of action in 2018. At La Escalera, we’ll find out who is the most savage of them all.
Jamie Senegal vs. Candy Lee

It’s a battle of the divas at La Escalera! The Punk Rock Kween Jamie Senegal and New Zealand’s Candy Lee both return to RISE following appearances at Pride & Joy. Neither were successful in their matches that night but were very popular with the fans of RISE. Soon after her return to New Zealand, Candy Lee was announced as returning for this show. On October 15th, she sent a tweet saying that she wanted to wrestle Jamie. Kevin Harvey obliged not long after and this match was made.
La Escalera al Campeonato Match
Priscilla Kelly, Jake Atlas, Raze, Hyan, Kylie Rae & Wild Card
For the first time in the history of the Berwyn Eagles Club, there will be a ladder match! The point of La Escalera al Campeonato is to ascend the ladder and retrieve the contract. The contract guarantees whoever wins a shot at the Phoenix of RISE Championship. Five of the six competitors have been named ahead of the match. The first is Hell’s Favorite Harlot, Priscilla Kelly. The former Shine Nova Champion has been making quite the name for herself in 2019. She’s perhaps best known for the “tampon spot” with Tuna. She is so much more than that and she will prove it. Also in this match is the superstar, Jake Atlas. Atlas, a student from the Santino Bros Dojo, has been on the rise in 2019 as well.
Also representing Southern California is the force that is Raze. The Equal Opportunity Ass-Kicker hasn’t seen victory since RISE 2: Ascent. Another standout is the Renaissance Woman, Hyan. Trained by Booker T at the Reality of Wrestling, she’s steadily worked her way up as a RISE regular. She was discovered through a tryout prior to RISE 5. Making her return at RISE 12: ROW on the RISE, she’s out for a shot at the Phoenix. The final announced slot was originally scheduled to be Hyan’s fellow ROW alumnus, AQA. However, an injury has put her on the shelf and we wish her a speedy recovery.

Replacing her is none other than smilin Kylie Rae! Rae of course is a former Phoenix of RISE Champion, before her friend Zoe Lucas betrayed her. After defeating Mercedes Martinez, Lucas came out and ended Kylie’s reign moments after it began. The final slot will be revealed when it’s time for them to enter the Eagles Club. RISE management does have many talents to choose from, between their prospect talent pool and the students at Freelance Wrestling.
Guardians of RISE Championship Match
The Killer Death Machines (c) vs. Team Blue Nation
After turning back the challenges of Paradise Lost, Almost Paradise, and Team Sea Stars, the Killer Death Machines are onto their next challenge. For Neveah and Jessicka Havok, that is Team Blue Nation. The Australian duo of Charli Evans and Jessica Troy have beaten the current champions before in SHIMMER. Their last appearance for RISE was at RISE 13 when they won the right to challenge for the Guardians of RISE titles. This was also before Neveah and Havok survived their war with Paradise Lost, which they walked out of with the belts.
The Final Fight
Shotzi Blackheart vs. Rosemary
In a tale almost as old as RISE itself is that of The Ballsy Badass and The Demon Assassin. In the aftermath of RISE 5, Rosemary attacked Shotzi and was joined by Dust. While Shotzi attempted to regain the Phoenix of RISE Championship from Delilah Doom, Rosemary and Paradise Lost would continue to interfere. This would lead to mutual respect and friendship between Blackheart and Doom. Together, they would become The Balls of Doom and go after Rosemary and Paradise Lost. It should be noted that at RISE 2, Rosemary had made Delilah an offer to join her and the Shadow, as part of Paradise Lost. Doom had been fighting Rosemary’s mind games and now had a friend to lean on in Shotzi.
However, the Shadow would prove to be too strong with Paradise Lost. Rosemary and her puppets would succeed in turning the beloved Doomie against the Blackheart. Now Shotzi, two years into this war of attrition with the Demon Assassin, goes it alone. This is the final stand, the last battle between the ballsiest woman in RISE and the one who has sought to take RISE under darkness. Will Rosemary finally want, have and take Shotzi? Or will Shotzi have the last laugh? At La Escalera, we will finally have an answer.
Phoenix of RISE Championship Match
Big Swole (c) vs. Laynie Luck
The Phoenix of RISE Championship will be defended by Big Swole at La Escalera. Laynie Luck won the Regional Rising Stars Tournament – Midwest Bracket. She defeated Hawlee Cromwell, Sierra, and Max the Impaler in one night. Luck is also the current Zelo Pro Women’s Champion. She had the opportunity to defend that title at IMPACT Wrestling All Glory against Kylie Rae and Shotzi Blackheart. Following her relocation to the Midwest, Laynie Luck’s career has been on fire. Now she will have the biggest opportunity of her young career. Big Swole defeated Zoe Lucas to become the Phoenix of RISE and turned back the challenge of the impressive Double D Rose. Swole is very strong and quick as well as full of determination. It will take a great effort in order to wrest the title from her grasp.
All of this action is set to end 2019 for RISE in style! If you don’t have a ticket for La Escalera, it will be available to watch on FITE.TV and via their streaming service RISE Ascent.
