New York City’s Impact Championship Wrestling (ICW New York) returns on Friday night with a banger of an evening in Kick in the Door 2, airing live on IndieWrestling.tv at 8pm EST. Featuring a slew of some of the US indie scene’s toughest competitors and some national stars, its a great way to kick off the weekend.
Sanchez (w/ Riley Madison) vs. Grim Reefer vs. Super Crazy vs. Ghost Shadow
A crazy fatal four-way featuring four legends of the New York/New Jersey indie scene. Pinkie Sanchez is a 15-year veteran of Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW), CHIKARA, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Beyond Wrestling, and Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), and continues to cause mayhem through the US indies. Grim Reefer is a 20-year veteran and student of Homicide, who has caused havoc in JAPW, New York Wrestling Connection (NYWC), GCW and ICW New York. Super Crazy is a Mexican luchador, but he made his name in the US as part of ECW in the 1990s, where New York was a regular stomping ground. And Ghost Shadow is a veteran of the early days of the US indies like JAPW and CZW, who retired in 2005. He’s making a comeback in 2019 after returning at the GCW Tribute to Homicide this past July.
Low-Life Louie vs. Markus Crane
Markus Crane is a seasoned veteran of some of the US’ roughest promotions, from GCW to IWA Mid South, who is as much a master of taking abuse as he is dishing it out. Low Life Louie is another Homicide student who has spent 22 years in the business. Another early JAPW star in the early 2000s, he’s spent the past few years causing pain in Hardcore Hustle Organization (H2O).
Matt Travis vs. Homicide
Matt Travis is one of the rising stars in House of Glory in NYC who has also cut his teeth in CZW for a few years now as well. This fierce warrior will be putting everything he’s learned on the line when he faces an absolute NY/NJ indie legend in Homicide, the former Ring of Honor World Champion, and former member of LAX in IMPACT Wrestling.
Southern Slaughter Deathmatch: John Wayne Murdoch vs. Reed Bentley
The Rejects are one of the US indies most dangerous tag teams, but on Friday night the former IWA Mid South and GCW Tag Team Champions put their friendship aside to face off against each other in a Southern Slaughter Deathmatch. John Wayne Murdoch is a former 5x IWA Mid South Heavyweight Champion and the 2016 IWA Mid South King of the Deathmatch winner, while Reed Bentley is a former 3x IWA Mid South Heavyweight Champion and a frequent deathmatch tournament competitor himself. They may be friends, but on Friday night it’ll be no holds barred once the bell rings.
Chris Dickinson vs. SHLAK
Two of the most intense men in pro wrestling will unleash that energy on themselves on Friday night at ICW New York. Chris Dickinson has gone from being a tag team player with Jaka in Doom Patrol and Catch Point in Beyond and EVOLVE Wrestling, to becoming one of the most lethal grapplers in the US today. And SHLAK…is insane. He looks like the kind of person who would cannibalize you after a victory (or a loss). This will be hard-hitting, to say the least.
Killer Kross vs. Dan Maff
Another intense match-up as two of the most lethal men in the game faces up. Killer Kross may be in exile on IMPACT Wrestling, but he continues to pick big fights on the US indies. On Friday, he faces another NY/NJ veteran in Dan Maff, a 20-year veteran of JAPW, Ring of Honor, GCW, WrestlePro, ICW New York, and so much more. Maff may hold an edge in the power game, but Kross is technically crueler. Should be a hoss fight.
Teddy Hart vs. Sami Callihan
A first-time match-up and indie dream match. Teddy Hart and Sami Callihan have shared many locker rooms, most recently with Major League Wrestling (MLW), but on Friday night, these two indie veterans go one on one for the first time in their careers. Both men are innovators who have changed the game with their unique stylings, and together this could be the match of the weekend.
