NXT kicked it back into high gear tonight with FOUR matches! Tonight will be capped off with the long-anticipated grudge match between Killian Dain vs Matt Riddle. Let’s go ahead and dive into this great night of action with your NXT recap!
DAMIAN PRIEST OVERCOMES ONSLAUGHT FROM MANSOOR
Somehow Damian Priest came out looking like a monster, and Mansoor substantially increased his standing in NXT. Priest had his usual hard-hitting offense, but Mansoor will surely have everyone talking after this.
He did an excellent job of selling Priest’s offense and had an impressive comeback flurry. Ultimately Priest picked up the win with the Reckoning, but both men came out better than when they entered.
MIA YIM DISPATCHES VANESSA BORNE…THEN GETS ATTACKED BY THE HORSEWOMEN
Mia Yim continued her sub-feud with Vanessa Borne and Aliyah, taking on the former. It was a very brief contest with Borne getting the majority of the offense. That was all brought to a halt when Yim hit Protect ya Neck for the three count.
Champion Shayna Baszler came out shortly after, but surprisingly to extend an invitation to Yim. Yim was having none of it attempting to get the jump on the Horsewomen but was overwhelmed quickly.
Officials made their way to the ring, saving Yim from further damage.
SHANE THORNE GETS BY BRONSON REED IN WAR AGAINST BREAKOUT COMPETITORS
These men crafted a match that showcased the strengths of both men. Thorne has been incredible as a jealous and opportunistic heel, and Reed looked like a human wrecking ball even in defeat.
Reed was allowed to have the majority of the hard-hitting offense, but it was Thorne’s cheap tactics that got him the win. These men not only raised their stock but made this author want to search for more Australian strong style!
I can’t wait to see Thorne continue his march against the remaining competitors of the Breakout Tournament.
KILLIAN DAIN BRUTALIZES MATT RIDDLE IN OFFICIAL RE-DEUBT MATCH
Killian Dain looked every bit the monster he always should have. Riddle did have some incredible spots, including an awesome powerbomb, but this was all about Killian Dain.
While Dain didn’t squash Riddle by any means, he did have the significantly more brutal offense. From his cannonball to the corner, the senton on the steel steps, and the three Vader drops for the win.
Riddle wasn’t overshadowed though, he’s is being built extremely well as the babyface you want to see get his payback. Dain though feels like he may be the monster of NXT for some time to come.
