This week, IMPACT Wrestling returns to Mexico City, MX as the promotion returns to Fronton Mexico Entertainment Center for television tapings on Thursday and Friday night. With the return comes a couple of debuts who are considered to be huge names in the industry.
It was announced this morning that the Lucha legend and the former 3-time AAA Mega Campeon, Dr. Wagner Jr. would be making his IMPACT Wrestling debut. The 33-year veteran has been creating history in Mexico throughout his career. He is a 2nd generation star whose traveled the world over and is considered one of the cornerstones and faces of AAA Lucha Libre. He was trained by his father, Dr. Wagner, and has his son, El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. who is also in the industry.
We most recently saw Dr. Wagner Jr. at last weeks AAA Giro De Conquista show where he was initially set to retire after his loss to another Lucha legend, Blue Demon Jr., which resulted in the loss of his hair and his decision to retire after the match. But after some convincing from others, Dr. Wagner would wind up not retiring and continued with the ongoing war between the two.
The last time we saw Dr. Wagner Jr. working with a United States-based promotion was back on July 6th, 2019, when he and his son faced Los Parks for MLW on MLW Fusion at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, IL. The two teams tore the house down in what was one of MLW’s more exciting tag matches in all of 2019. What will Dr. Wagner Jr. have in store for IMPACT Wrestling this Friday night?
Also set to debut for IMPACT Wrestling is Tenille Dashwood. The former “Emma” in WWE. Ever since her departure from World Wrestling Entertainment, Dashwood has had a chip on her shoulder with something to prove and has told the world that “It’s All About Me”. Tenille shocked the wrestling world when she debuted for Ring Of Honor wrestling for their Women Of Honor division back on February 9th, 2018 when she teamed up with Mandy Leon to take on Kelly Klein and Stacy Shadows.
Dashwood entered the company with open arms and proved that she wasn’t all about sports entertainment, but could really go in the ring and could step it up in terms of in-ring work. Dashwood would continue her streak of fantastic matches and would continue to show how good she is. Unfortunately, Dashwood would be sidelined with injuries and a skin condition known as Psoriasis that she’s dealt with throughout her life. That wouldn’t stop the uber-talented Australian native.
Tenille Dashwood is a 10-year plus veteran of the sport and has had over 500 matches in her career. Born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Dashwood would train with Lance Storm up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and would begin her in-ring career in 2005. 14 years later and she has had a successful career and is now going to make an impact with the of the industry’s strongest women’s division which has always had a great pedigree, the Knockout’s Division.
Tenille Dashwood joins the likes of Taya Valkyrie, Tessa Blanchard, Madison Rayne, Havok, Su Yung and her opponent for her first match, Keira Hogan. What will Tenille Dashwood bring to IMPACT Wrestling? Find out when IMPACT Wrestling airs the shows from Mexico in a few weeks.
