At tonight’s AAA Lucha Libre’s Verano De Escalando, Keyra became the 26th AAA Reina De Reinas Champion as she defeated Chik Tormenta and the former champ, Lady Shani. Lady Shani had been champion since December of 2018 and held the title for nearly 200 days. This is Keyra’s first major championship with the company since returning to the promotion back in June of 2018.

At only 23 years old, however, Keyra is no stranger to winning titles. The 10-year veteran has held championships in other promotions such as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, THE CRASH, and Promociones EMW. Lady Shani has been on Keyra’s radar for months and months with several tag matches happening with both involved and Keyra getting the upper hand. It was only a matter of time before we saw Keyra with the title. The question is, will the newly crowned Reina De Reinas Champion be defending her title at Triplemania? And if so, against who?
To go back a bit with Keyra’s career, she made her debut with AAA Lucha Libre back on May 5th, 2015 teaming up with Faby Apache defeating Apache’s sister, Mary Apache and Taya Valkyrie. She had been with the promotion for a couple of years before exploring other promotions. Keyra would eventually earn the first major title of her career when she defeated Silueta to win the CMLL Reina International Junior Championship on January 29th, 2017.
Keyra would later become the women’s Champion for THE CRASH by defeating Laurel Van Ness, Santana Garrett, Lady Maravilla and Candy White in a 5-way match on April 5th, 2017. She would remain the champ for 290 days. Fast forward to 2018. Keyra, after dabbling in the independent scene would return to AAA Lucha Libre. During her current run, Keyra was able to debut with IMPACT Wrestling when the promotion came down to Mexico to the Fronton Mexico Entertainment Center and wrestled the former IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Tessa Blanchard.
