It’s Triplemania season and things are getting HOT south of the border with AAA Lucha Libre as the show has one of the bigger shows of the year in “Verano De Escandolo” (Summer Of Scandal). This is a show that will serve as a build up to more of the feuds and matches happening at the promotions biggest show of the year, Triplemania. Verano De Escandolo takes place from the Poliforum Zamna in Merida and is expected to be a soldout show with an estimated 9,000 seats. Get ready for some a big show. Here’s the lineup for Verano De Escandalo.
Psycho Clown & Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Blue Demon Jr. & Taurus
The story of this match is between has two of the Triplemania main event participants in Dr. Wagner Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. these two bonafide Lucha legends are destined for an all-out war in a hair vs. mask match that could see the end of a career at Triplemania. There hasn’t been one show since this match was made that the two could not get their hands on each other. What will happen this Sunday when the two get their hands on each other in what could be one of their last matches?
La Parka & Hijo Del Vikingo & Mysteziz Jr. vs. La Hiedra & Rey Escorpion & Texano Jr.
For months, Los Mercenarios have been a thorn on the side of La Parka and many others in AAA Lucha Libre. La Hiedra has also been involved in the factions quest to dominance of the whole organization. However, we have seen a couple of members leave the group. La Parka has had plenty to say about it. On a recent show, La Parka introduced his son to the organization and as a result was brutally beaten by the merciless crew and this Sunday, with the help of Vikingo and Mysteziz Jr., the trios look to end what’s left of Los Mercenarios. Will the trios of La Parka, Mysteziz Jr. and Vikingo be successful?
Laredo Kid & Taya Valkyrie vs. Daga & Tessa Blanchard
After what could be a match of the year candidate last week and successfully defending his AAA World Cruiserweight Title against El Hijo Del Vikingo, Laredo Kid has his eyes set on Daga as the two may be set for a war down the line as Daga has made it crystal clear that he wants EVERY title in AAA Lucha Libre. But perhaps the real story here is the nuclear-heated rivalry between Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie. This is a rivalry that can’t be contained at IMPACT Wrestling anymore and is now taking place at AAA Lucha Libre. Since the Madison Square Garden press conference these two have been at each other’s throats. What makes this rivalry more personal is that Taya used to be Daga’s partner in Perro’s Del Mal with the late Perro Aguayo Jr., Pentagon Jr., Joe Lider among others. However, the group has since imploded and with Tessa supporting her boyfriend Daga while already hating Taya, this furthers their rivalry to all new levels. Just last week, the former Perros Del Mal members Daga and Taya confronted one another which led to them destroying each other only to be helped by their tag team partners for this Sunday’s event. What will we be able to see a winning tag team in this match? or will we further see chaos ensue with everyone involved?
Faby Apache vs. El Hijo Del Tirantes
For months, Faby Apache and Referee Hijo Del Tirantes have been feuding with one another over screwed up finishes from the referee to Fabys matches. The two have already laid hands on one another, however, this Sunday, they’ll finally get the time to really fight it out. Will we see Faby Apache come out successful and once and for all get rid of Hijo Del Tirantes? or will Hijo Del Tirantes have his way yet again with Faby and find yet another cheating way to get the result he wants?
In other matches announced thus far have Lady Shani vs. Keyra and Chik Tormenta for the Reina De Reinas title and in a Trios match, Aero Star & Pagano & Puma King vs. Chessman & Killer Kross & Monster Clown. In a tag match, Australian Suicide and Sammy Guevara vs. Exoticos Maximo and Mamba. Also, the return of Scarlett Bourdeaux. Scarlett has arguably been the most viewed talent in all of AAA since her arrival to the organization. Her youtube views are in the millions. How will Scarlett be involved this coming Sunday?
The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros for the AAA Heavyweight Titles
The ongoing saga between arguably the two best tag teams on the globe continues. Since AEW’s inception and the announcement of the companies event “Double Or Nothing”, it seems that these two teams were destined to clash for tag team supremacy forever. On March 16th at AAA Rey De Reyes, the Young Bucks shocked the Lucha world when they mysteriously appeared on the show after the Lucha Bros. finished their scheduled main event match. The Bucks and The Lucha Bros. would get into an impromptu title match that would result in the Bucks winning and taking the AAA Tag Titles back to AEW.
The Lucha Bros. looking for revenge and their titles, got the rematch against the Young Bucks at Double Or Nothing in what was a tag team masterpiece of a match. While the two teams battled it out, only one team came out the champs, and that was The Young Bucks as they successfully defended the straps. Now, the Lucha Bros. have demanded a rematch and were granted the match. Expect for the two teams to once again tear the house down. The question remains, however, how will Konnan play into this rivalry? Will we see the Bucks win with the help of Konnan? Or will The Lucha Bros. finally be able to retain the titles with what seems to be an insurmountable obstacle in defeating The Young Bucks with a vengeful Konnan on their side?
