Preview: PWA Black Label Presents – All Eyez On Troy (6/14/19)

Following a highly successful launch of their Green Label branded Young Lions show it’s time for the main Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) roster to set their sights on the next Black Label event, All Eyez On Troy.

Last month’s show, Once Upon A Time In Max Watts, ended with an all-out brawl between TMDK (Slex, Mikey Broderick & Damien Slater) and the 4 Nations (Jack J. Bonza, Adam Hoffman, Mick Moretti & Jessica Troy). This left many within the crowd stunned and asking, is anybody in control of PWA?

Ahead of this Friday’s show TMDK have already stated they will not be appearing at the event out of protest over the attack. For Jessica Troy, this could prove to be incredibly beneficial as she can now refocus her sights on PWWA Championship gold when she challenges reigning PWWA Champion Shazza McKenzie.

For fans unable to attend Max Watts this Friday PWA will also be live streaming the event via OVOPlay at www.play.ovo.com.au/channel/6940.

Mick Moretti vs Tommy Knight

With TMDK out of the picture for this event, the members of the 4 Nations are not backing away from a fight. This Friday ‘The Rapscallion’ Mick Moretti will be facing an incredibly tough challenge when South Australia’s ‘The Prodigy’ Tommy Knight makes his PWA debut.

Moretti has never been afraid to step into the square circle against a larger foe, but Knight has proven to be an entirely new breed of powerhouse. Down in South Australia Knight has proven to be powerful but also incredibly technically proficient. Since debuting in Wrestle Rampage Knight has pushed Australian National Champion ‘Punch-Drunk’ Istria to his limits, and has also defeated the ‘King Of Monsters’ Jonah Rock in his Australian farewell match.

There is no doubt Moretti will need to use every trick he has in his large back of tricks in order to overcome Knight.

Mat Rogers vs Adam Hoffman

After Hoffman and the 4 Nations screwed Rogers out of the victory last month he’s been granted a rematch.

Clearly, not a single member of the 4 Nations has plans to take it easy with TMDK out of the picture. It could potentially even be argued that Adam Hoffman is facing the toughest challenge of all when he once again steps into the ring with, a presumably pissed off, ‘Full Force’ Mat Rogers.

Let’s see if Hoffman can survive against ‘Full Force’ a second time!

Robbie Eagles vs Michael Spencer

Fresh off his phenomenal run in the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament, where he earned an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship opportunity against Will Ospreay, Robbie Eagles returns to Max Watts.

Standing in the ring to greet Eagles upon his return will be none other than ‘The Prince Of All Wrestling’ Michael Spencer. After an embarrassing loss to the team of Session Moth Martina and Carter Deams at Once Upon A Time In Max Watts Spencer will be looking to prove himself in this one.

Expect an incredibly hard-hitting and high-flying match between two of the worlds best junior heavyweights.

Jack J. Bonza vs Rat Daddy

Another man making his PWA debut will be none other than Rat Daddy. Yet another young competitor out of South Australia, Rat Daddy has already proven to be a prodigal talent early into his career.

On Friday however Rat Daddy will be stepping into the ring with one of the countries most underrated and under-appreciated ring technicians, Jack J. Bonza. Known for his bruising physical offence, Bonza is also able to ground his opponents and pick apart any limb he wants.

As the leader of the red nation, and the drill sergeant of the 4 Nations Bonza will be heading into this contest looking to send a message to TMDK. It’s hard not to feel sorry for Rat Daddy ahead of this one because you just know he is going to be in a world of hurt for much of this match.

PWA Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contendership: Velocities (Jude London & Paris De Silva) vs SMS (Richard South & Tyler Payne)

When the Velocities received a title opportunity last year it was a case of right place right time. However, they went on to seize that opportunity and prove they deserved to hang with the big boys of the PWA Tag Team division. This weekend if they are to earn another shot at tag team gold they are going to have to earn it.

Also, gunning for this opportunity is the newly formed tag team of Tyler Payne and Richard South. Since coming together just a short time ago these two men have gelled surprisingly well, with Richard South adopting a much more physical and menacing style.

These two teams are two of the best in the country currently so expect nothing short of a Match Of The Night contender in this one. And know with certainty that nothing will hold these young men back, just look back at last month’s show and Jude London’s death-defying leap from the Max Watts mezzanine.

PWWA Championship: Shazza McKenzie (c) vs Jessica Troy

For months now Jessica Troy has been plowing through the competition, whether they be male or female. This Friday her efforts will be rewarded when she challenges Shazza McKenzie for the PWWA Championship.

Whilst Jessica Troy has been here in Australia competing against the best that Australia has to offer McKenzie has been in the US facing some of the best in the world. So undoubtedly both women are coming into this one very well prepared.

This match also comes with added significance for both ladies as it will be the first time the PWWA Championship is defended within the hallowed halls of Max Watts.

Will the outpouring of love for the returning McKenzie be enough to push her to a successful defence against ‘The Destroyer’ Jessica Troy? Or will the ‘The Destroyer’ shatter the heart of ‘Heartcore’ Shazza McKenzie and end her 600+ day reign?
