Ruby Riott Out of Action Due To Shoulder Surgery

Ruby Riott

WWE revealed today that Ruby Riott has been out of action due to shoulder injuries to both of her shoulders. In a press release on Wednesday, WWE stated Riott had undergone “successful surgery yesterday to repair a bilateral injury to her right shoulder, WWE.com can confirm. Riott will receive surgery for the same injury on her left shoulder at a later date.”

Ruby Riott had been separated from her Riott Squad stable that also included Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan following the Superstar Shake-Up after WrestleMania 35 when Liv Morgan was sent to SmackDown Live. Her last match was at a WWE Live Event in Cardiff, Wales on May 17, 2019, where she lost a fatal four way for the Raw Women’s title against champion Becky Lynch, which also featured Lacey Evans and Tamina. Riott hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since April 22, where she lost to Dana Brooke on Main Event. She has continued to work Live Events, including recently reuniting with Liv Morgan during last week’s European tour, that saw the duo face off against the Divas of Doom (Beth Phoenix & Natalya) and Bayley & Ember Moon in the UK, France, and Belgium. While the extent of the injuries to both shoulders are not fully revealed, generally shoulder surgery of this magnitude takes 4-6 months to recover.
