Nikki Cross Replaces Alexa Bliss in the Women’s Money in the Bank

Nikki Cross

WWE announced on their social media accounts yesterday at noon that Alexa Bliss would not be cleared to compete in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday.

Nikki Cross Replaces Alexa Bliss

PWInsider would report afterwards that Alexa Bliss would be held back from competing in the match due to a concussion scare. In a precautionary measure, they felt it would be safe to keep her out of a hard-hitting match like Money in the Bank with the injury not being too serious.

Nikki Cross would be the winner out of all this. As not only did she get a chance to replace Alexa on Monday in the Fatal 4-Way match that she would win, but she will now become a part of the Women’s Money in the Bank.

This is Nikki’s first true opportunity since coming to the main roster. She would go to Twitter following the announcement saying; “This is my one shot.” While it is unfortunate for Bliss to miss another match, Cross is a welcome addition to the match. Cross has proven to be a fan favorite dating back to her time in NXT when she was one of the top women on the brand. The idea of Nikki bringing down the briefcase on Sunday can excite many with her ability and craziness that she still has inside despite a slight character change seen on Monday when she was calmed down version when talking to Bliss.

Some may have felt this one coming following Nikki replacing Bliss, but now it is official and unfortunately last year’s winner will not be able to try and repeat.

The field completely changes as Cross replaces the last years winner. The favorite now may be the first winner Carmella, who won two of the matches to get her opportunity to cash-in. Fans should not be shocked however if Cross brings down the briefcase, as it is possible that Bliss’ loss becomes Cross’ win. The other competitors include Natalya, Naomi, Dana Brooke, Bayley, Mandy Rose, and Ember Moon.

The match itself is certainly different now as anyone can certainly win the match this Sunday. Lots of excitement should be had at Money in the Bank as two competitors can walk out as winner and a chance to be a champion someday.
