PWinsider is reporting that former TNA/IMPACT Star Mahabali Shera has re-signed with IMPACT Wrestling. They speculate that he could return as early as the TV tapings or Rebellion PPV in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. If IMPACT ever wants to elevate The Desi Hit Squad above comedic jobber status, adding Shera as the muscle may be a way to go. Rohit Raju is a standout Midwest veteran as Hakim Zane and they’ve barely scraped the surface of what he’s capable of.
Shera first got introduced to TNA in 2011 as one of the stars of its India promotion, Ring Ra King. Following its demise, he debuted with TNA in 2014, joining “Cowboy” James Storm’s new stable The Revolution as Khoya. A year later, he turned face on his team and went to the Mahabali Shera name. He continued to wrestle for TNA until he was released in 2017.
Soon after his release, he was signed to the WWE to an NXT Developmental Deal and headed to the Performance Center. But despite training for the last year, he was quietly released by the end of 2018. A return to IMPACT could be the jumpstart he needs.
