Preview: AAW Hell Hath No Fury (3/16/19)

Chicago’s All American Wrestling (AAW) has been on a roll of late and that momentum continues through tonight with a return to Logan Square Auditorium for a SOLD OUT show with lots on the table. They’ve announced a string of great matches so far for tonight’s show, but there’s still some talent appearing that hasn’t had match reveals yet, including Kimber Lee, Nate Webb, Hakim Zane, Jake Atlas, Joey Lynch, Jacob Fatu, Gringo Loco, Paco and more! Since it’s now sold out, so you’re going to have to wait until it’s available on-demand on Highspots Wrestling Network.

Jimmy Jacobs vs. Mance Warner

“The Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs continues his obsession against Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) World Heavyweight Champion Mance Warner. Last month at AAW Art of War, Warner defeated Jacobs, but apparently, Jimmy isn’t done yet. The two are set to continue their feud, and with these two involved, it’s only going to get crazier from here on out.

Moose vs. Ace Romero

A classic case of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, as IMPACT Wrestling‘s juggernaut Moose faces one of the biggest big men in wrestling in Major League Wrestling (MLW) and recently announced All Elite Wrestling (AEW) prospect Ace Romero. And while the duos sheer size would lead one to expect a hard-hitting and physical contest – which it will be – both men are extremely athletic for their respective sizes.

Eddie Edwards vs. Fred Yehi

Another IMPACT star Eddie Edwards makes his AAW return after five years – he last fought in AAW as a member of American Wolves with Davey Richards in 2014. This time, Edwards returns a changed man. No longer the calculated technical grappler, he’s become a demented soldier of hardcore looking for vengeance around every corner. He’s going up against one of the US indies more underappreciated wrestlers in Fred Yehi. Yehi is a veteran of MLW, EVOLVE, and Full Impact Pro (amongst others), and a former FIP World Champion (with a reign of 562 days) and EVOLVE Tag Team Champion with Catch Point. Yehi has the abilities to hang with Edwards in what could be the sleeper match of the night.

AAW Women’s Championship: Kylie Rae (c) vs. Jessicka Havok

AEW’s Kylie Rae is one of Chicago’s hottest stars at the moment, but with her AAW Women’s title around her waist, she’s become a marked woman. On Friday night, her opponent tonight in Chicago, Jessicka Havok, attacked Kylie Rae (and her opponent Britt Baker) at Warrior Wrestling IV, as Havok – who’s also a part of the larger OvE family with Sami Callihan and the Crist Brothers – declared their disdain for the AEW wrestlers. With the first shots fired last night, blood will be boiling on both sides.

Juventud Guerrera & Myron Reed vs. Best Friends (Trent Baretta & Chuck Taylor)

Huge tag team action, as 3x WCW Cruiserweight Champion, 2x WWE Cruiserweight Champion and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Juventud Guerrera heads to Chicago to team with one of the US indies top emerging high flyers (and former AAW Tag Team Champion) Myron Reed. The makeshift duo will have their work cut out for them, as they face not only a veteran tag team but a pair of best friends. As in the Best Friends, of Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor, who have been competing for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), Ring of Honor and New Japan for years, and recently joined AEW.

AAW Heavyweight Championship: Sami Callihan (c) vs. Jake Something

Photo: AAW

Sami Callihan has been battling the WRSTLING faction for months now and on Saturday night, he puts his title on the line against one of the group’s newer members in Jake Something. But will it remain a singles encounter or will Something’s running mates – Eddie Kingston, David Starr, Curt Stallion and Quinn McKay – interfere to secure the AAW gold? If it does turn into a gang warfare encounter, expect Callihan’s Death Machines/OvE allies, Jessicka Havok and the Crist Brothers to make an appearance.
