#AndNEW: Sasha Banks and Bayley Capture WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles

Elimination Chamber 2019 was certainly one to remember.  Not only did we bear witness to the arguable greatest night of Kofi Kingston‘s 11-year WWE career, we got to see the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley (Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection) leave Houston, Texas as the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.  The team of former NXT Women’s Champions put on a solid tag-team display, which saw them overcome the likes of The Irresistible Force (Nia Jax and Tamina), Fire and Desire (Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose), The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan), The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) and the team of Carmella and Naomi.  The talented duo cut a promo after the match, dedicating the win to the fans and to all of the women in the backstage.

Interestingly enough, Sasha and Bayley’s win adds to an impressive statistic.  All three current women’s titles on the main roster were initially won by a member of the Four HorsewomenCharlotte Flair was the first RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch was the first Smackdown Women’s Champion and now Sasha Banks and Bayley are the first Women’s Tag Team Champions.  The tag title win also adds to an impressive resume, going nicely with their combined five times RAW and two times NXT Women’s Championship wins.

With Sasha and Bayley now able to navigate between both brands, the queue of opponents waiting to meet Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection in the ring has doubled.  Hopefully, this leads to a flourishing tag team division, capable of creating memorable match-ups whilst gaining more TV time for the women who have struggled to make it onto RAW and Smackdown Live.
