#AndNEW: Lucha Brothers Win IMPACT Tag Team Titles

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) have been a source of controversy the past week. After appearing at the Come Hell or High Water event last Friday night and accepting an offer to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW) (followed by the official introduction on Thursday), many assumed that the Lucha Brothers would be leaving Major League Wrestling (MLW) and IMPACT Wrestling to become exclusive to AEW. The recent loss of their MLW Tag Team titles to the Hart Foundation‘s Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. at MLW SuperFight seemed to point in that direction. But all bets are off now, as the Lucha Brothers have quickly re-added more tag team gold to their collection, defeating LAX (Santana & Ortiz) for the IMPACT World Tag Team titles on Friday night.

And with new IMPACT gold around their waists, The Lucha Brothers were in the news again on Friday, earlier in the day. MLW announced their return to MLW on March 2 at their next major event, MLW Intimidation Games, in Chicago, where they’re issuing an Open Challenge to any tag team (hmmm, could AEW make an invasion into MLW?)

When asked if this was a sign that Lucha Brothers were indeed continuing with MLW in 2019, MLW CEO Court Bauer confirmed that they were, indeed, still a part of the MLW roster alongside their deals with AEW and IMPACT.
